Results by Race Course – Top Rated

results_by_race_typeSomeone recently mentioned, on the forum, that Irish races are notoriously difficult to rate.

So I thought that I'd take a look and see if this was so.

Unfortunately, I don't record the Race Country in the results table so the best I could manage was to produce a report of Results by Race Course.

I have placed this spreadsheet in the Information box on the sidebar.

You may download the spreadsheet by right mouse clicking this link... http://focusratings.com/data/results_by_race_course.xls and then choosing "Save Link As..." or something similar (depending on your web browser.)

I'll leave you to digest the information and draw your own conclusions.

You should be aware that this report concerns just the Top Rated horse in each race.

The things that interest me are....

1). Brighton and Kelso look interesting with a win strike rate of over 40% (compared to the average win strike rate of 25.80%.)

2). Balinrobe, Brighton (once again), Exeter, Fontwell, Hamilton, Sligo, Taunton and Windsor also look interesting with a place (in other word, the horse came 1st, 2nd or 3rd) strike rate of over 70% (compared to the average place strike rate of 58.80%.)

3). Kilbeggan and Listowel should be avoided at all costs!

I hope that this information helps you with your betting; once I have populated the results table with historical data I should be able to run more reports like this (results by number of runners or results by class, for example.)

My kindest regards
