Updates…

I have been trying to plough my way through some of the functional updates that some of you have requested...

Sorry if that means that I've been a little slow in answering some of your emails...

I promise that I should be able to catch up today and Saturday.

Whilst I am a bit wary of changing the underlying code that generates the actual ratings themselves...

I have no problem with updating and improving things if that makes the Focus Ratings experience better for you.

So, please feel free to suggest (preferably on the Forum) any improvements that you would like to see.

1). Results - year to date (CSV format)

I have published a list of all results, year to date, in CSV format.

The link for this is... http://focusratings.com/data/focusratings_results.csv

You may have to highlight the link and then click on Save as... (or some such similar dialogue) depending on your web browser.

There is also a permanent link in the Information section on the sidebar.

I intend to update this file at the end of every month.

2). On Screen Ratings...

I have amended the code so that Today's Ratings are displayed on screen at Ratings from 10am every morning (when they are generated) until midnight.

On that page there is also a link to the Early Bird Preview Ratings.

Obviously, these get generated at 5pm.

So, if you look at the Preview Ratings after 5pm they will show the ones for the next day.

If you look at the Preview Ratings before 5pm they will display the previous day's Preview Ratings for today.

I hope that this makes sense?

1). BOT Files - I am currently working on a set of tools that will allow you to download either all Top Three Rated Horses or Selected Top Three Rated Horses to a file suitable for import into The Bet Engine or the GreyHorseBot.

2). Alerts - I have started thinking about producing a facility whereby you could receive daily emailed alerts when a certain set of criteria is matched.

For example, if you want to be informed when Black Beauty is running in a Novice Hurdle and is a Focus Ratings top three rated horse, you could set up an alert and get an email at 10am to inform you that that is the case.

Or perhaps you'd want to know when a course winning beaten favourite is also a Focus Ratings top rated horse?

Perhaps you'd be interested when a horse (any horse) is running with a particular trainer and jockey and is Focus Ratings top two rated?

All this functionality may well be shortly available from Focus Ratings - I'm sort of waiting on you to let me know what would really help you?

3). User Manual Jill, John, Mark and I are currently working on a manual in PDF format that you may download and review.

This manual will explain how to use Focus Ratings and will answer many of the questions that you may have.

Conclusion...

If there are any more changes and improvements to the functionality to the site, please let me know.

I can't promise that I'll be able to implement all of them but I'll certainly do my best.
