Morning News – 02/06/2021

6620418Good morning...

Once again I did manage to get an awful lot of work done yesterday....

I'm not sure how, one day, I can slave away for 8 hours and...

It looks like I've accomplished nothing at all and yet, on other days,

After a just few hours work, I get a whole week's work done.

Let's start with Intelligent Betting.

Intelligent Betting

The new colour coded morning email worked yesterday and...

Today I am hoping that that email will contain Meeting PDFs.

These will be the Expert Cards but, one PDF for each meeting.

On another point...

There is now a Forum on Intelligent Betting - there are many ways of using the unique information at Intelligent Betting and a forum is a good way to share ideas on just how to do that.

Focus Ratings

The new R9 ratings didn't do as well a I expected yesterday but...

From the 8 rated races (taking the non-runner into account) we got,

1 win, 3 2nds, 3 3rds and 2 non placed.

Had you Place Bet all 8 top rated horses you would have made (assuming a Betfair commission of 2%) 2.5276 points profit on the 8 points staked.

Food for thought, eh?

From the initial analysis of the 5 years of R9 data I do know that they are blindly profitable for place betting; I guess that it will be worth while trying to find some filter to increase the profits and to try to understand why we get so many high priced place returns.

Compass Ratings

Today I shall be studying the meeting at Happy Valley to see how well the new Compass Ratings Plus Plus ratings perform.

These not only have the Jockey Strike Rate (Compass Plus) adjustment but also have a similar adjustment for Draw Bias (taking distance into account.)

I shall be reporting on the success (or otherwise) tomorrow.

Task List...

In order to be honest and truly transparent with you...

I will now be publishing my task list on the Morning News.

You will be able to see what I am working on and, more importantly, what progress I am making.

Here are the current tasks...

T01). Work out a number of strategies to utilise R9 and provide Focus Rating members free Portfolio Betting selections across a number of different betting strategies (win backing, place backing, dutching, laying and, the other thing that I described that I don't know what it is called) on a daily basis.

T02). For Compass Ratings, display, on screen and via a email PDF, the twice weekly updated trainer/jockey win/place strike rates.

T03). For Compass Ratings, complete the eBook that explains all the weird and wonderful things that I have learned about Hong Kong Horse racing.

T04). Complete PaperTradeIt.com - a free site where you can privately log your bets and get Strike Rate, POI (to ISP and BSP) data and losing run analysis on those bets.

I'm trying to knock off the easy/quick jobs first in order to reduce the size of the list; the size of the list scares me sometimes and, believe me, I have twice as many jobs on the Admin/BAU (Business As Usual - things like automated scripts, backups and server log file analysis - stuff that all website owners have to do) task list to get through as well.

Focus Ratings

Suspension...

At a college with a shady reputation, the new dean responded to investigations into the basketball team by suspending any basketball player who wasn't maintaining a passing average. Furious, the coach came storming into the dean's office, followed by one of his star players.

"You can't keep him from playing!" the coach roared. "We won't win this weekend without him!"

"I don't care," the dean said. "Things have gotten out of hand at this college."

"What do you mean, out of hand?" the coach demanded.

"I'll show you what I mean," the dean said. He turned to the basketball player and said, "Tell me,how much is six times seven?"

The player thought for several seconds. Then he said, "Thirty one?"

The dean turned to the coach and said, "I rest my case."

"Oh, come on now," the coach said. "Why are you making such a big deal of it? After all, he only missed it by one."
