Good morning...

Yesterday, I managed to get more work done on the new Focus Ratings R9 Portfolio selections.

The beauty of a Portfolio system is that the selections seem to balance themselves out.

The current (updated) spreadsheet may be found at R9-Portfolio-Special.xlsx

I am working on content to explain the spreadsheet but, if you work from left to right it should all make sense.

This shows the 7 mini systems based upon R9. These give about 25 races a week and are as follows...

1). 5 Runners or less: 2.36 races a week, 56.97% SR & 58.32% POI
2). 130% + Confidence: 2.77 races a week, 52.20% SR & 67.24% POI
3). Winner LTO: 5.41 races a week, 41.29% SR & 23.17% POI
4). Clear Favs: 5.05 races a week, 41.67% SR & 29.97% POI
5). High FC Prices: 2.75 races a week, 22.90% SR & 56.64% POI
6). Recent Returners: 4.81 races a week, 36.57% SR & 32.75% POI
7). Beaten Favs: 1.70 races a week, 44.02% SR & 72.16% POI

The spreadsheet now shows the actual selections that would have been produced over the last 5 years.

What really interests me is that, using the 5 years of sample data, there has only been one losing month.

The chart shows data working to a 50 point bank; at no point was the bank even remotely threatened.

The average profit is 49.68 points per month (working to a 50 point bank.)

Starting with a 50 point bank (to level stakes), after the 5 years of the data set, the bank has risen to 2881 points.

It will take me another few days until I can automatically produce these selections. Once that is done I shall show them on the R9 Portfolio Selections daily email.

You will be able to see what I am working on and, more importantly, what progress I am making.

Here are the current tasks...

T01). Work out a number of strategies to utilise R9 and provide Focus Rating members free Portfolio Betting selections across a number of different betting strategies (win backing, place backing, dutching, laying and,
the other thing that I described that I don't know what it is called) on a daily basis.

T02). For Compass Ratings, display, on screen and via a email PDF, the twice weekly updated trainer/jockey win/place strike rates.

T03). For Compass Ratings, complete the eBook that explains all the weird and wonderful things that I have learned about Hong Kong Horse racing.

T04). Complete PaperTradeIt.com - a free site where you can privately log your bets and get Strike Rate, POI (to ISP and BSP) data and losing run analysis on those bets.

I'm trying to knock off the easy/quick jobs first in order to reduce the size of the list; the size of the list scares me sometimes and, believe me, I have twice as many jobs on the Admin/BAU (Business As Usual - things like automated scripts, backups and server log file analysis - stuff that all website owners have to do) task list to get through as well.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 81.58 units returned to 104 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -21.56%

Top Rated Horse - There were 9 winners from the top rated horses from 36 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 26.83 units returned to 36 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -25.47%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the second rated horses from 34 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 13.38 units returned to 34 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -60.65%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the third rated horses from 34 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 41.37 units returned to 34 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 21.68%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 12 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 5 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 41.67%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 12.45 units returned to 12 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, 3.75%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 12 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 9 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 75%

Caught your eye...

This guy is dining alone in a fancy restaurant and there’s a beautiful redhead sitting at the next table. He’s been sneakily checking her out ever since he arrived, but doesn’t have the courage to start talking to her.

Suddenly she sneezes, and her glass eye comes flying out of its socket toward the man. His reflexes kick in and he reaches out, plucks it out of the air, and hands it back to her.

The redhead is mortified. “Oh my, I am so sorry,” she says as she pops her eye back into place. “Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you.”

So he joins her table and they enjoy a wonderful meal together. Afterwards they go to the theatre followed by drinks at a bar. They talk, they laugh, she shares her deepest dreams and he shares his. She listens.

After paying for everything, she asks him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap. He says yes and they return to her place.

He ends up staying the night. The next morning, she cooks a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy is amazed at how everything has been so perfect and how incredible this woman is. He can’t believe his luck. “You know,” he said, “you are the perfect woman, are you this nice to every guy you meet?”

“No,” she replies, “You just happened to catch my eye.”
