Morning News – 05/11/2020

6620418Good morning...

I spent most of yesterday working on the back end of the new Builder+.

However, this required me doing some database updates (and writing the code so that they get done automatically.)

This gave me some time to take a look at R7.

R4 is our basic Focus Ratings ratings.

In order to improve the accuracy I came up with Advance Ratings which rates horses in a totally different way.

When you add R4 to the Advance Rating rating you get R5.

If you select those horses that are top on R5 and also top on Advance Ratings then those horses are R6.

If you only use those race types that are blindly profitable on R6, they become R6+.

R7 is just the R6+ selections for the first M races of the day where M equal the number of meetings.

So, yesterday there were 5 meetings and R7 showed the R6+ ratings for the first 5 races of the day.

This is important as we are more accurate for the early races.

This is partly because my forecast prices are more accurate for those races and...

Also, the earlier races tend to be easier to rate (less handicap races) than the later ones.

From my quick look at R7, I am seeing some very interesting things.

I did spend a few months, back in 2019, looking at R7 but, somehow, life sort of got in the way and I never got round to coming up with a strategy (although I do remember that my system was profitable and gave me 5 winning days a week.)

I'll be working on the Builder today but...

If there are database updates to be done (and I'm sure that there will be) I'll carry on studying R7.

I'll let you know what I find.
