Good morning...

My client work is coming to an end so...

I should have more time for the horse racing stuff from now on.

Over the Christmas break I did manage to get some work done;

I decided to take a look at Place Betting the top rated horse in 16 runner (plus) handicaps.

By only using races where the top rated horse has a FC price (my forecast) of 3.0 or greater and,

Discarding any 5 or 6 furlong races and...

Using selected race types,

I get about 6 races a week, a strike rate of 53.31% and a POI (Profit on Investment) of 21.18%

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 64.13 units returned to 87 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -26.29%

Top Rated Horse - There were 2 winners from the top rated horses from 28 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 12 units returned to 28 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -57.14%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the second rated horses from 31 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 34.8 units returned to 31 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 12.26%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 2 winners from the third rated horses from 28 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 17.33 units returned to 28 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -38.11%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 9 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 0 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 0%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 0 units returned to 9 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, -100%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 9 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 3 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 33.33%
