A Great day for the Advance Ratings system selections yesterday...

To answer a few questions...

I should be able to finish the spreadsheet for the Top 3 R8 Rated horses today.

To explain...

1). You look at the Focus Ratings R8 ratings PDF.

2). You only look at the top rated horse for each race.

3). You then pick the 3 top rated horses that, from all the races, have the highest R4 number.

And that's it.

I need to make the spreadsheet look a bit prettier and test out as few filters;

I know, from experience, that, as soon as I publish the spreadsheet, I shall be asked lots of questions.

I want to try and answer those questions in advance.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 54.58 units returned to 58 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -5.9%

Top Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the top rated horses from 19 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 20.2 units returned to 19 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, 6.32%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the second rated horses from 19 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 13.88 units returned to 19 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -26.95%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 20 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 20.5 units returned to 20 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 2.5%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 5 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 3 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 60%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 5.7 units returned to 5 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, 14%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 5 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 3 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 60%

Two Judges...

Two judges were stumbling home from their local pub, arms around each other, loudly singing Kenny Rodgers.

"Hey," said one, "I think we're drunk."

"You are right, and according to the law I will have to charge you with being drunk and disorderly," said his mate.

"And you will have to appear before me at 10AM tomorrow," said the first.

Next morning in court, the first pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $10.

They then switched places.

"Drunk and disorderly, eh? You are fined $20."

"Hey," protested the first, "When I was in was in chair I only fined you $10!"

"Yes," said the second judge, "But the offence is becoming too common. You are the second drunk to appear before the court this morning."
