Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A comfortable day, yesterday.

Lots of high price winners, which is always nice and...

Our Banker's Bet won at 12/1!

So, to celebrate...

I have a joke for you.

Not, I have to admit, horse racing related but it did make me laugh.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 22.5%.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 147.04 units returned to 117 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 25.68%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 37.82 units returned to 40 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -5.45%

2nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the second rated horse in all of the races you would have had 26.97 units returned to 38 units staked. The Second Rated Profit Index was, thus, -29.03%

3nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the third rated horse in all of the races you would have had 82.25 units returned to 39 units staked. The Third Rated Profit Index was, thus, 110.9%

The Portfolio

There was a Banker's Bet (but not a Chancer's Bet) yesterday.

Bankers Bet = NH Chase - Mares who are top rated and came 3rd last time out. - where R4 Status = 1 and where Race Type = National Hunt - Chase and Horse = Mare and where Position last time out = Third

Selection = Back to ISP - Gowran Park - 16:40:00 - Ivy Glen (6)

Races (over last year): 20 Wins: 7 Strike Rate: 35.00% ROI: 142.45% AV SP: 4.07

Ivy Glen won at 13.0 ISP (16.65 BSP.)

Now, it seems that we've had a bit of a turn around with our Banker's Bet recently...

Saturday 14th March - Pretend won @ 2.1 ISP/2.12 BSP.

Sunday 15th March - Draycott Place won @ 2.25 ISP/2.52 BSP.

Monday 16th March - Just Because won @ 7.0 ISP/8.2 BSP.

Tuesday 17th March - Mtada Supreme came second.

Wednesday 18th March - There was no bet.

Thursday 19th March - There was no bet.

Friday 20th March - Twirling Magnet won @ 2.0 ISP/2.18 BSP.

Saturday 21st March - Ivy Glen won @ 13.0 ISP/16.65 BSP.

Now, I make that a strike rate of 5 wins from 6 bets which equates to 83.33%

And, 26.35 units would have been returned to the 6 units staked (to ISP.)

The profit on investment is, thus, 339.17%.

Now, I'm not sure how long that this will go on but I shall be tweaking the selection process to discard selections where the historical ROI (over the last year) is less than 110%; the cut off point is currently 100%.

Something to make you laugh...

Beauty and the Beast

A circus owner ran an ad for a lion tamer and two people show up.

One is a retired golfer in his late sixties and the other is a gorgeous blond in her mid-twenties.

The circus owner tells them, "I'm not going to sugar coat it. This is one ferocious lion. He ate my last tamer so you two had better be good or you're history.

Here's your equipment - a chair, a whip and a gun. Who wants to try out first?"

The girl says, "I'll go first." She walks past the chair, the whip and the gun and steps right into the lion's cage.

The lion starts to snarl and pant and begins to charge her. About halfway there, she throws open her coat revealing her beautiful naked body.

The lion stops dead in his tracks, sheepishly crawls up to her and starts licking her feet and ankles.

He continues to lick and kiss her entire body for several minutes and then rests his head at her feet.

The circus owner's jaw is on the floor. He says, "I've never seen a display like that in my life."

He then turns to the retired golfer and asks, "Can you top that?"

The tough old golfer replies, "No problem, just get that lion out of there."

Today's early test ratings show 19 rated races from three meetings.

There is no All Weather racing today so I won't be sending out the speed ratings but...

At some point next week, the Speed Ratings will appear on the normal ratings email.

This will mean that you get them earlier.

Have a great day's racing!
