Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

So, no 330.0 winners yesterday and,

For that I apologise.

But then, there weren't any AW or Flat Turf races yesterday,

Thus, no Speed Ratings...

And so it wasn't entirely my fault.

The strike rate for our top rated horse was pretty good and...

There were some reasonably high priced winners.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 29.41%.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 65.98 units returned to 51 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 29.37%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 16.5 units returned to 17 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -2.94%

2nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the second rated horse in all of the races you would have had 22.98 units returned to 18 units staked. The Second Rated Profit Index was, thus, 27.67%

3nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the third rated horse in all of the races you would have had 26.5 units returned to 16 units staked. The Third Rated Profit Index was, thus, 65.63%

This Week

The first part of the move of the computation of the speed ratings to early in the morning has worked fine. As this doesn't affect the real ratings, as soon as they have goine out I shall be testing, testing and testing again to make sure that the code works.

Actually, the code already works but is currently being done on the fly just before the ratings go out and it doesn't hurt to test it again.

The next stage will be to change the way that your system selections are produced.

At the moment it goes through every member in sign up order and computes the system selections for that member, sends the email out and waits 2 seconds before moving onto the next member.

I intend to do the computation of the system selections for each of you with no delay and then send the emails out, 300 at a time with a 5 minutes delay between each batch.

This should substantially reduce the time taken to get your system selections out to you and, in any market, the first with the information holds the advantage.

Something to make you smile...

Two Catholic Parrots

A lady goes to her priest one day and tells him, "Father, I have a problem. I have two female parrots, but they only know to say one thing."

"What do they say?" the priest asked.

"They say", 'Hi, we're ladies of the night! Do you want to have some fun?'

"That's obscene!" the priest exclaimed,

Then he thought for a moment.....

"You know," he said, "I may have a solution to your problem. I have two male talking parrots, which I have taught to pray and read the Bible...

Bring your two parrots over to my house, and we'll put them in the cage with Francis and Peter. My parrots can teach your parrots to pray and worship, And your parrots are sure to stop saying that phrase in no time."

"Thank you", the woman responded, "this may very well be the solution."

The next day, she brought her female parrots to the priest's house....

As he ushered her in, she saw that his two male parrots were inside their cage holding rosary beads and praying...

Impressed, she walked over and placed her parrots in with them.

After a few minutes, the female parrots cried out in unison:

"Hi, we're ladies of the night! Do you want to have some fun?"

There was stunned silence...

Shocked, One male parrot looked over at the other male parrot and says, "Put the beads away, Frank, our prayers have been answered!"

Today

Today's early test ratings show 19 rated races from three meetings.

All races are rated.

I shall be creating a post later on today to report the experiences that one of our members had yesterday.

Chilling reading, believe me!

Have a great day's racing!
