Morning News – 14/04/2021

Good morning...

Yesterday that we had a top rated (on Really Simple Ratings) winner...

Which came in at 150/1.

So, I got sort of side tracked and took a look into top rated horses with high forecast starting prices.

I found that, using RSR, if you blindly back any top rated horse with a forecast starting price of between 6.0 and 12.0 inclusive...

It is blindly profitable to BSP.

If you restrict your selections to those horses which won or were placed last time out,

It becomes more profitable.

I found two more filters which further increase the profitability.

I will be adding a post on Intelligent Betting later on today.

However, I seem to have overslept once again and, as a result,

I am now running hideously behind.

I will, of course, take a look at a similar strategy using, Focus Ratings, Advance Ratings (which is, in some ways, similar to RSR) or the new R8 ratings to see if we have been missing out on some high priced winners.

It should be noted that Early Bird Ratings naturally brings up high priced winners so it is worth taking the time to try and work out why.

Task List...

In order to be honest and truly transparent with you...

I will now be publishing my task list on the Morning News.

You will be able to see what I am working on and, more importantly, what progress I am making.

Here are the current tasks...

T01). Work out a number of strategies to utilise R8 and provide Focus Rating mem height="746"bers free Portfolio Betting selections across a number of different betting strategies (win backing, place backing, dutching, laying and, the other thing that I described that I don't know what it is called) on a daily basis.

T02). For Compass Ratings, display, on screen and via a email PDF, the twice weekly updated trainer/jockey win/place strike rates.

T03). For Compass Ratings, complete the eBook that explains all the weird and wonderful things that I have learned about Hong Kong Horse racing.

T04). Complete PaperTradeIt.com - a free site where you can privately log your bets and get Strike Rate, POI (to ISP and BSP) data and losing run analysis on those bets.

T05). Re-launch Intelligent-Betting.com - very good good things are happening there as we speak and it is becoming a vital (and also, very profitable) tool for those who like to think about their betting.

I'm trying to knock off the easy/quick jobs first in order to reduce the size of the list; the size of the list scares me sometimes and, believe me, I have twice as many jobs on the Admin/BAU (Business As Usual - things like automated scripts, backups and server log file analysis - stuff that all website owners have to do) task list to get through as well.

Focus Ratings

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 28.57%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 27.78%.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 156.06 units returned to 105 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 48.63%

Top Rated Horse - There were 10 winners from the top rated horses from 35 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 58.68 units returned to 35 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, 67.66%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the second rated horses from 36 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 40.88 units returned to 36 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 13.56%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the third rated horses from 34 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 56.5 units returned to 34 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 66.18%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 16 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 6 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 37.5%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 32.18 units returned to 16 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, 101.13%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 16 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 11 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 68.75%
