Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

April is the cruellest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain.

Now, don't worry, I'm not going to make a habit of quoting poetry to you first thing Monday mornings but...

I do have a slight feeling that T.S. Eliot (author of The Wasteland - perhaps the greatest English poem) might have been a bit of a punter.

Saturday was a pretty rubbish day for the ratings and yesterday started the same way.

I was sort of half heartedly ticking off the results (I had other things on my mind), thinking that it was going to end up another bad day (as to be expected in April) and was thinking that, if I were a punter, I'd give it all up and take up writing poetry when...

Suddenly the results started changing and the winners started pouring in.

And, in the distance, I heard the Live Ratings revving up before swinging into action.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 36.36%.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 72.3 units returned to 72 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 0.42%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 31.88 units returned to 22 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, 44.91%

2nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the second rated horse in all of the races you would have had 36.67 units returned to 25 units staked. The Second Rated Profit Index was, thus, 46.68%

3nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the third rated horse in all of the races you would have had 3.75 units returned to 25 units staked. The Third Rated Profit Index was, thus, -85%

Today

Today's early test ratings show 28 rated races from four meetings.

Now, I've recently had a sort of a death in the family (sort of) and, as a result...

I'm taking a bit of "me time."

This doesn't mean that I'm going to take time off work.

It just means that I'm going to be concentrating doing the boring coding (to keep me occupied) rather than try to respond to your emails (many of which require me to do lots of boring coding - so it all seems to work out?)

However, I would suggest that you keep an eye on the Live Ratings now that the Flat Turf season has started to get under way.

If I don't respond to your emails straight away, please be aware that I shall do so, once things are a bit easier.

Anyway, today looks like being an interesting day's racing so, as always...

Have a great day's racing!

5 star ratingsOnce again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to the Focus Ratings Review at Tipsters Review and have your say.

The income that we make from sign ups from that site keeps me in Red Wine and Smelly Cheese!

As always...

My kindest regards
