Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Overall, a reasonable day for this time of the year.

I'm not sure what the weather is like in the UK but, here in France, it's pretty dire.

Then again, it's only to be expected as it's a bank holiday weekend.

Having said that, I think that every weekend in May is a bank holiday weekend.

Those of you who do combination tricasts/trifectas are probably recovering from yesterday's celebrations...

We got three of them; one paid £315.50 and another paid £237.60.

Now, if only someone could explain to me which races to choose for these combination bets...

I'd be a very happy man!

And, in the same vein, by blindly backing the third rated horse in every race, you would have made a 41% profit on your stakes. This seems to be happening far too often to be ignored and so...

I've made a note to do some analysis to see if there is a potential strategy here.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 21.43%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 24.44%.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 138.92 units returned to 133 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 4.45%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 30.17 units returned to 42 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -20.17%

2nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the second rated horse in all of the races you would have had 45.25 units returned to 46 units staked. The Second Rated Profit Index was, thus, -1.63%

3nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the third rated horse in all of the races you would have had 63.5 units returned to 45 units staked. The Third Rated Profit Index was, thus, 41.11%

The Portfolio

There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.

On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.

You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.

If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.

Today

Today's early test ratings show 27 rated races from four meetings.

I shall be watching the results coming in today (even though I try to take weekends off) as I'm interested to see if I can get a feel for when to take a look at the third rated horse. I suspect that it'll come down to 3rd rated horses with a very high confidence level and a similarly high price - that'll be shown as a massive yield.

On another matter, a number of people have repeatedly requested free trials with us. Unfortunately, their email addresses don't seem to be valid. If you are one of those people, please contact Jill and she'll sort it out.

Have a great day's racing!
