Good morning...
Yesterday was pretty reasonable;
Let's face it...
Any day when we hit a strike rate that is better than the average for the year to date has to qualify as a good day.
And, although I've still to come up with a strategy for the new Speed Ratings,
The following 2 races at Chester yesterday indicate that I really need to...
3.10 Chester
Trip to Paris 1st @ 10/1 - top rated FSR
Quick Jack 2nd @ 4/1f - second top rated FSR
Zafayan 3rd @ 6/1 - third top rated FSR
Tricast £271.34
4.55 Chester
Silvanus (top rated on FSR) 1st @ 25/1 - Betfair paid 37.2 (and 5.59 for the place.)
On Saturday I'll be firing up my new server to do some more analysis on the speed ratings to see if I can find a way of identifying races such as the two detailed above.
Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....
Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 28.57%.
Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 27.59%.
The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 84.92 units returned to 82 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 3.56%
Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 27.61 units returned to 28 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -1.39%
2nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the second rated horse in all of the races you would have had 31.88 units returned to 28 units staked. The Second Rated Profit Index was, thus, 13.86%
3nd Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the third rated horse in all of the races you would have had 25.43 units returned to 26 units staked. The Third Rated Profit Index was, thus, -2.19%

I read in the local rag that B & Q was...
Having a sale of Council Recliners.
I got curious about this item,
Never heard of a 'Council Recliner',
So I went to B & Q to find out what these things were...
Guess what?
I've had one in the shed for years!
Just hadn't figured out how to use it properly
Today's early test ratings show 41 rated races from six meetings.
As tomorrow is another Bank Holiday here in France, there will be no Morning News.
I'm not sure how I'll be getting up to tomorrow but it sure won't involve spending all day sat in front of the computer.
Anyway, I'm working on Saturday (primarily on the Speed Ratings) and so it seems sensible to have a day off on the bank holiday.
After all, there are only 4 bank holidays in May, this year, so it's worth making the most of them!
Have a great day's racing!
Once again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to the Focus Ratings Review at Tipsters Review and have your say.
The income that we make from sign ups from that site keeps me in Red Wine and Smelly Cheese!
As always...
My kindest regards
