Good morning...

As I mentioned yesterday...

I have been doing some work on Place Profits.

Now, Place Profits is based on 2 years of data and, even with its ups and downs, actually makes a pretty decent profit over the long term.

But...

Since racing resumed in June of this year,

The profits just haven't been there.

I expected a bad June and July (and I got what I expected) but...

Since then, the recovery, although apparent, isn't as good as I would have liked.

Thus...

I spent 9 hours yesterday reviewing different filters in order to return Place Profits to profit.

Eventually I determining that, under the current circumstances, a change to the maximum forecast SP from 6.0 to less that 3.0 does the trick.

So, from today I shall be showing the Place Profits selections as per normal but also, the selections using the above filter; I shall call those selections Place Profits Refined.

Once a month I shall check the profitability for both sets of selections; it may be that the original set of filters comes back into profitability and, thus, the need for the Refined selections reduces.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 28%.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 101.61 units returned to 142 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -28.44%

Top Rated Horse - There were 12 winners from the top rated horses from 45 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 48.61 units returned to 45 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, 8.02%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 8 winners from the second rated horses from 49 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 32.75 units returned to 49 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -33.16%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 5 winners from the third rated horses from 48 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 20.25 units returned to 48 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -57.81%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 15 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 4 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 26.67%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 13.04 units returned to 15 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, -13.07%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 15 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 10 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 66.67%

Four Legs

A wife comes home late one night and quietly opens the door to her bedroom.

From under the blanket, she sees four legs instead of just her husband's two.

She reaches for a baseball bat and starts hitting the blanket as hard as she can.
