Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A slightly below average day, yesterday.

However, looking at the actual results, I'm not too worried.

A big thank you to all of you who have offered suggestions for my potential strategy for place backing the top three rated horse with the highest yield.

I can't currently report on yesterday's results (for that strategy) as Timeform isn't showing place prices for all the races and I can't get the numbers from Betfair until later on today (well, I can but it's a bit of a hassle.)

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 22.5%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 21.95%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 21.43% from all 42 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 57.91 units returned to 118 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -50.92%

Top Rated Horse - There were 9 winners from the top rated horses from 40 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 27.74 units returned to 40 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -30.65%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the second rated horses from 39 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 30.17 units returned to 39 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -22.64%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 0 winners from the third rated horses from 39 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 0 units returned to 39 units staked. The 3nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 0%

Winners

From the 41 rated races there were 13 winners (from the top 3 rated horses.) 4 of those were at nice prices.

There seems to be a problem with Timeform and the site isn't displaying all the Betfair starting prices - where I can't get the BSP, I'll use the acronym N/K.

Course Time Horse ISP BSP
Cartmel 15:20 Carters Rest (3) 13.00 N/K
Cartmel 15:50 River Maigue (4) 5.50 N/K
Hamilton 16:15 Lil Sophella (3) 5.50 N/K
Hamilton 16:50 King Of Paradise (7) 11.00 N/K

The Portfolio

There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.

On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.

You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.

If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.

Today

Today's early test ratings show 41 rated races from six meetings.

Have a great day's racing!

5 star ratingsOnce again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to the Focus Ratings Review at Tipsters Review and have your say.

The income that we make from sign ups from that site keeps me in Red Wine and Smelly Cheese!
