Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Well, what a day yesterday was!

I do apologise for the bug that messed up the ratings; I believe that I have fixed it and the early morning test ratings look good.

The link to the early morning ratings is...

Now, these early ratings don't have Forecast Prices (and, thus, no Yield) as I don't compute them at 4am. However, there don't appear to be any corruptions and the numbers look right to me.

There still seems to be problems with Timeform and I can't see any Betfair prices on the site for yesterday's races.

Which seems a bit strange as Timeform are owned by Betfair.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 24.32%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 26.32%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 24.39% from all 82 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 45.45 units returned to 109 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -58.3%

Top Rated Horse - There were 9 winners from the top rated horses from 37 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 28.2 units returned to 37 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -23.78%

2nd Rated Horse - There was 1 winner from the second rated horses from 35 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 3 units returned to 35 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -91.43%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 37 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 14.25 units returned to 37 units staked. The 3nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -61.49%

There were 3 forecasts yesterday.

Worcester 17:10:00 - The CSF paid £41.40

Haydock 16:50:00 - The CSF paid £19.31

If you had done a £1 forecast in all of yesterday's 35 qualifying races (taking the non-runners into account) you would have had £62.45 returned for £35 staked.

Reverse Forecasts

There were 0 reverse forecasts yesterday.

There was 1 trifecta yesterday.

Wetherby 18:45:00 - The Trifecta paid £9.00

Combination Tricasts/Trifectas

There were 0 combination tricasts/trifectas yesterday.

From the 38 rated races there were 13 winners (from the top 3 rated horses.) 2 of those were at nice prices.

The Portfolio

There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.

On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.

You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.

If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.

Until Timeform get their act together and start showing Betfair win and Place prices I can't say much about my new strategy.

I am keeping my annotated printouts and will probably do a summary on Sunday afternoon to show the last week's results.

I have a pretty good feeling about yesterday as one of the selections was a 50/1 winner (ISP) but I have no idea what the Betfair win or place prices were.

One of the lessons learned from yesterday is that, if we have a problem, it works better if, rather than dive in and try and fix it, I take the time to email you to let you know that I'm on the case. That saved Jill and I lots of time answering identical emails.

Another benefit of fixing the bug was that I believe that I have also fixed the bug which sometimes causes some races to be identified as Point to Point races and some to have no Race Type at all. Only time will tell.

Today's early test ratings show 50 rated races from eight meetings.

I shall be manually generating the ratings this morning and double checking them before sending them out. Thus, they might be a little later than usual.

Have a great day's racing!

5 star ratingsOnce again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to the Focus Ratings Review at Tipsters Review and have your say.

The income that we make from sign ups from that site keeps me in Red Wine and Smelly Cheese!

As always...

My kindest regards
