Good morning...
As yesterday was my birthday,
I was rather more concerned with my rapidly increasing age and my rapidly increasing waistline than I was with the racing.
So, thinking that a diet might be in order, Jill & I went out for a massive meal...
Which I couldn't quite finish (and that's a first, unheard of, really. I must be getting old.)
Which is probably why I'm sitting here at 3am, weighing a stone more than I did yesterday, looking about 100 years older and ever so slightly suffering from indigestion.
Anyway. The strike rate was pretty good so perhaps I ought to go out and gorge myself more often.
Today is a massive day's racing with eight meetings, one of which is, of course...
The Investec Epsom Derby!
Some some of you might remember that, last year, we achieved a 57.14% strike rate for the top rated horse and, in the Derby, we got the forecast!
You can read about that here.... http://focusratings.com/news/epsom-musings-57-14-strike-rate/
Now, I can't promise you that we'll do the same this year but,
I've got my fingers crossed for you.
Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....
Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 30.43%.
Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 30.43%.
Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 31.25% from all 48 Races (including previously unrated races.)
The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 102.95 units returned to 130 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -20.81%
Top Rated Horse - There were 14 winners from the top rated horses from 46 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 35.22 units returned to 46 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -23.43%
2nd Rated Horse - There were 10 winners from the second rated horses from 41 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 41.33 units returned to 41 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 0.8%
3rd Rated Horse - There were 5 winners from the third rated horses from 43 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 26.4 units returned to 43 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -38.6%
