Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A rather decent day, yesterday...

Not just for the ratings but,

Also, profitable for the new Place Betting Strategy.

Speaking of which, I managed to get lots of work done on the 8 to 15 runner non-handicaps and I already have a profitable strategy.

However, I shall be spending more time on it today to reduce the number of selections and increase the strike rate and profitability.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 44.83%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 43.75%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 41.94% from all 31 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 87.38 units returned to 90 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -2.91%

Top Rated Horse - There were 13 winners from the top rated horses from 29 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 40.42 units returned to 29 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, 39.38%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 8 winners from the second rated horses from 32 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 30.76 units returned to 32 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -3.87%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 29 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 16.2 units returned to 29 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -44.14%

The Portfolio

There was a Banker's Bet (but not a Chancer's Bet) yesterday.

Bankers Bet = Unique Jockey and Trainer - where R4 Status = 1 and where Race Type = Flat and Horse\'s last run was less than 14 days ago and where Position last time out = Unplaced and Horse was NOT a Course Winner and Horse was NOT a Distance Winner and Horse had a Unique Jockey and Horse had a Unique trainer and Horse has NOT changed in Class

Selection = Back to ISP - Brighton - 20:30:00 - New Rich (2)

Races (over last year): 18 Wins: 5 Strike Rate: 27.78% ROI: 143.90% AV SP: 5.18

New Rich came second.

Place Betting Strategy

From the original Place Betting Strategy there were three selections...

The selections were…

1). Ascot 15:40 – Mecca’s Angel - NR

2). Stratford 17:10 – Court Baloo - 3rd @ 2.54

3). Beverley 18:15 – Deansgate - Unplaced.

Thus, since last Saturday...

The current strategy (the soon to be improved strategy) has given us 5 winners from 10 selections and has returned 20.45 points to 10.0 points staked (assuming a 5% Betfair commission.)

For the new Place Betting Strategy (currently only 16 runner or more non-handicaps) there were two selections...

There selections were...

1). Ascot 15:05 – Buratino - won @ 2.58

2). Ascot 15:40 – Mecca’s Angel - NR

Thus, since Monday, the new partial strategy has given us 1 winner from 1 race and has returned 2.541 points to 1.0 points staked (assuming a 5% Betfair commission.)

I shall be continuing my work on the 8 to 15 runner non-handicaps today. The strategy is already profitable but I need to apply additional filters to improve the strike rate from 40% and reduce the number of selections bya factor of three.

Today

Today's early test ratings show 37 rated races from six meetings.

I shall be sending the Place Betting Strategies out just after the Ratings have gone out.

Have a great day's racing!
