Good morning...

Now that the Bank Holiday weekend is over...

I can get back to analysing the Lay Bet section of the R10 Bet The Race spreadsheet.

It is apparent that there is little to gain from Lay Betting the higher rated horses as the returns are so little and the risks too high.

Today I shall be analysing the performance based on forecast prices.

This should provide a filter that can be used to identify the ranges of safe Lay Bets.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 49.49 units returned to 65 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -23.86%

Top Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the top rated horses from 25 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 14.66 units returned to 25 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -41.36%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the second rated horses from 21 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 29.23 units returned to 21 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 39.19%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 2 winners from the third rated horses from 19 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 5.6 units returned to 19 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -70.53%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 10 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 5 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 50%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 10.79 units returned to 10 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, 7.9%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 10 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 8 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 80%

I took my bicycle to the off license the other day...

I got a bottle of vodka and put it in the bike's basket.

As I was about to leave I thought to myself that if I fell the bottle would break.

So I drank all the vodka and then headed home.

It turned out to be a really good decision because I fell eleven times on my way home.
