Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

At the risk of repeating myself...

What a wonderful start to July!

And a decent day for our new Place Betting Strategy with 9 points returned for 3 points staked.

Unfortunately,

I missed a fourth selections which...

Predictably won!

Now, as Meatloaf used to say, two out of three ain't bad but...

Three out of four would have been better.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 29.17%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 29.17% from all 48 Races (including previously unrated races.)

Top Rated Horse - There were 14 winners from the top rated horses from 48 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 45.03 units returned to 48 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -6.19%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 10 winners from the second rated horses from 47 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 41.7 units returned to 47 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -11.28%

Place Betting Strategy

Now, I do apologise for the delay in sending out the place betting strategy selections yesterday.

I'm sort of multitasking at the moment and, as Jill keeps reminding me, men just can't mulititask!

And, you know what, she's right!

We had three selections yesterday...

1). Beverley 14:25 - Bahamian Sunshine - came 3rd - Betfair paid 3.58 for the place.

2). Beverley 17:20 - Dark Profit - unplaced.

3). Bellewstown 17:55 - Lisa's Legacy - came third - Betfair paid 5.9 for the place.

We should have had a fourth selection - my mistake - I cocked it up - no more multitasking for me!

The fourth selection should have been...

4). Haydock 16:00 - Musical Comedy - won - Betfair paid 1.70 for the place.

From my published selections yesterday we would have made 9.006 points for 3 points staked (taking into account a 5% Betfair commission.)

Had I had my act in gear, we would have had 10.811 points returned from 4 points staked.

Now, I can't include the race that I didn't mention but...

After four days we are running at a strike rate of 33.33% (5 winners from 15 selections) and have had 19.019 points returned to 15 points staked (assuming a Betfair commission of 5%.)

That's probably a bit more return than you're getting from your building society - I get 1% tax free from mine - and that's 1% a year and not the 26.73% in four days that this new strategy had produced.

Today

Today's early test ratings show 29 rated races from four meetings.

Every race is rated.

Have a great day's racing!

5 star ratingsOnce again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to the Focus Ratings Review at Tipsters Review and have your say.

The income that we make from sign ups from that site keeps me in Red Wine and Smelly Cheese!

As always...
