Good morning...
Strangely enough, I'm a bit disappointed with yesterday's results.
Even if, this time last year, I would have been quite content with them.
However, there were lots of non-runners yesterday and...
The Live Ratings coped with them and brought in a strike rate (for the top rated horse) of 31%.
Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....
Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 26.92%.
Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 31.03%.
Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 9.09% from all 77 Races (including previously unrated races.)
The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 73.04 units returned to 76 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -3.89%
Top Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the top rated horses from 26 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 20.92 units returned to 26 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -19.54%
2nd Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the second rated horses from 23 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 42.12 units returned to 23 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 83.13%
3rd Rated Horse - There were 2 winners from the third rated horses from 27 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 10 units returned to 27 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -62.96%

So, we made a loss on the day.
After five days we are running at a strike rate of 30% (6 winners from 18 selections) and have had 20.81 points returned to 18 points staked (assuming a Betfair commission of 5%.)
I've had some feedback on the new place betting strategy for handicap races and am re-thinking the monthly filters. I shall update you on my decision tomorrow.
Today's early test ratings show 34 rated races from five meetings.
Have a great day's racing!
