Good morning...

I have published a new spreadsheet at http://focusratings.com/docs/R10_multi.xlsx

The original spreadsheet shows how to bet on the top rated horse in the R10 ratings.

The new spreadsheet shows how to have multiple bets on those races.

I have to do this race by race and I am doing it in reverse date order.

It is a very slow process and, working backwards, I am up to the 3rd of October 2020

I shall carry on with this work for the next week or so.

The interesting columns are...

1rw - top rated win
1rp - top rated place
2rp - second rated place
3rp - third rated place
3rl - third rated lay
1rwp - top rated win profit
1rpp - top rated place profit
2rpp - second rated place profit
3rpp - 3rd rated place profit

The object is to define a strategy where the best race of the day is identified and a number of bets placed on that race.

It is far too early to even think about a strategy but one thing is apparent;

There are profits to be made by place betting the second rated horse.

It appears that you were right all along, Robbie T.

In the 17:50 at Kilbeggan - 2020-10-12, the second rated horse came third at a place price of 6.80 giving a profit of 5.684 points.

I am having to update this spreadsheet manually, race by race but...

That's actually not a bad way of doing things as I will get a good feel for those races types that we should be looking at.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 50.7 units returned to 97 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -47.73%

Top Rated Horse - There were 8 winners from the top rated horses from 30 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 24.5 units returned to 30 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -18.33%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the second rated horses from 33 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 15.95 units returned to 33 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -51.67%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the third rated horses from 34 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 10.25 units returned to 34 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -69.85%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 16 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 4 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 25%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 14.07 units returned to 16 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, -12.06%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 16 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 9 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 56.25%
