Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning

Just a quick one today as I try to take things a bit easier at the weekends.

And today is supposed to be my day off.

And I did slightly overindulge in mulled wine last night (I only drink it once a year, around Christmas, but I seem to look forward to it for about 11 months of the year.)

Anyway, Jill and I are off to a Christmas Market...

Where, no doubt, I'll have to try another glass of mulled wine.

After all, it is my day off.

So, I apologise in advance for the brevity of this post.

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate of 30.77%.

I'm pretty happy with that as, last December, we had an average strike rate of 23.03%.

I mustn't start getting too greedy now, although...

Yesterday was another of those days where you could have bet the forecast in every race and made an overall daily profit.

The same applies to the Tricast.

And that has started my addled brain ticking over...

Perhaps once I've finished my work on Dutching, I'll have another look at Forecasts and so forth.

I did write some articles about them earlier on in the year, (Article 1, Article 2 & Article 3) but I'm not sure that I came to any conclusions.

There were five forecasts yesterday.

Chepstow 12:25 - The CSF paid £30.82

Chepstow 13:25 - The CSF paid £4.75

Wetherby 13:40 - The CSF paid £7.88

Navan 14:40 - The CSF paid £3.14

Wolverhampton 18:45 - The CSF paid £1.81

There was one tricast yesterday.

Wolverhampton 18:15 - The tricast paid £80.09

From the 39 rated races there were 23 winners (from the top 3 rated horses) - only three of those were at decent prices.

Course Time Horse ISP BSP
Sandown 13:50 Vibrato Valtat 6.0 7.4
Aintree 14:05 Dawalan 5.5 6.33
Sandown 15:35 Tales Of Milan 8.0 8.73

1). Navan 12:45 - Our 3rd rated horse was a non-runner. It must have been at the last moment as the Live Ratings couldn't bring in a replacement in time.

2). Chepstow 13:25 - We got the forecast in this race. The CSF paid £4.75

3). Wetherby 13:40 - We got the forecast in this race. The CSF paid £7.88

4). Navan 14:20 - We got the top three in the right order in this race. There was no Tricast as it wasn't a handicap race. The CSF paid £3.14

5). Wolverhampton 18:15 - We got the first three horses in the right order. The Tricast paid £80.09

6). Wolverhampton 18:45 - We got the first three horses in the right order. The Trifecta paid £3.60. The CSF paid £1.81

The Portfolio

There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.

On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.

You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.

If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.

Any other business

And finally...

Winter Upgrades

I've written a post to detail the Winter Upgrades - you can see it here... Winter Upgrades

I am updating that post to show which upgrades have been implemented and, where possible, to indicate when I think that an upgrade may be implemented.

So, to quickly summarise...

1). My PDF, yesterday, was perfectly formatted so I think that I've fixed the bug were races used to go over 2 pages.

2). The morning emails went out well and I shall carry on changing throughout next week. From tomorrow, if you want to see what the new format email will look like, scroll down to the bottom of the email and you'll see where I'm going.

The new spreadsheet has been generated but I haven't been able to get much done with it yet.

Please, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about this part of my work.

Four meetings today.

I've just run the test ratings and they look good, with 27 rated races.

There really isn't too much to say about today's ratings apart from Highland Retreat being far ahead of the other horses (in terms of ratings) in the 13:05 at Huntingdon.

Nothing else stands out but then, my eyes do seem a bit blurry this morning.

I blame it on the mulled wine (or encroaching old age),

Or, a combination of the two.

Have a great day's racing!

5 star ratingsOnce again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to Focus Ratings Review and have your say.

As always...

My kindest regards
