Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A terrible first day at Glorious Goodwood (or, not so glorious for us, as it happens) but I can't work out why.

Just as I can't work out why we do so well at Epson or at the Cheltenham festival.

Lee (he of joint "Why don't we avoid the PBS Odds Ons selections" fame) has sent me some jokes to share.

I'm going to ration them a bit so I'll do about 6 a day over the next four days.

They just might give you something to chuckle about whilst you're eating your cornflakes.

Or, whilst you're crying (whilst you are eating your cornflakes) because of how badly we did at Goodwood yesterday.

Still, we made a profit on the PBS selections and, if you'd blindly backed the top rated horse in every race, you would have made a profit of 87.45%.

Blindly doing the forecast in every race was also profitable.

I have another post due to come out later today; this is to do with an additional strategy for the Place Betting Strategy and, so far, it's looking rather profitable. After all, we really shouldn't be satisfied with the 25 points that the new strategy has given us so far this month, should we?

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 33.33%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 33.33%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 34.29% from all 35 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 101.23 units returned to 96 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 5.45%

Top Rated Horse - There were 11 winners from the top rated horses from 33 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 61.86 units returned to 33 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, 87.45%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 5 winners from the second rated horses from 31 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 23.87 units returned to 31 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -23%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 32 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 15.5 units returned to 32 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -51.56%
