Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A decent enough day even if our Place Betting Strategy didn't do so well.

I'm doing quite well catching up on emails but it is going slower than I anticipated.

So, if you are waiting upon a reply, it'll happen; just not quite as quickly as I thought it would.

Following a suggestion from one member, I am looking to see if we can identify the three best opportunities each day for a multiple bet based upon the Place Betting Strategies.

So, I am looking to see if I can find a Bookmaker who will allow a Patent (or a Trixie) but using place betting rather than win betting.

I have contacted Paddy Power to see if they can offer us a deal and am waiting on their reply.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 33.33%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 32.5%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 31.71% from all 41 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 95.93 units returned to 112 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -14.35%

Top Rated Horse - There were 13 winners from the top rated horses from 39 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 46.18 units returned to 39 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, 18.41%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the second rated horses from 37 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 29.75 units returned to 37 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -19.59%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the third rated horses from 36 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 20 units returned to 36 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -44.44%

Something to make you chuckle

Many thanks to Roy for a little limerick...

A wee horsey limerick for you

My wife uses saddles and force
to make me behave like a horse,
and I'm entered next week
in the Irish Grand Sweep -
do you think these are grounds for divorce ?

Take into account, if you could,
that it might be soft going with mud,
and then if you win
you'll be raking it in
and also be put out to stud.

And thanks should also go to Derek for his joke that almost made me wet myself (whilst I was rolling around on the floor laughing.)

Some Days...

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a great huge, trouble-making biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig.

"Well, whatcha' gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears.

"Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can`t stand to see a man crying."

"This is the worst day of my life," I say. "I'm a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man and then my dog bit me."

"So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all, I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in and sit here watching the poison dissolve; then you show up and drink the whole thing! But enough about me, how's your day going?"

Today

Today's early test ratings show 40 rated races from six meetings.

Have a great day's racing!
