Morning News – 26/05/2021

Good morning...

I have published the latest (and final) version of the spreadsheet that identifies opportunities for the Focus Ratings new R9 ratings.

I will be publishing a post later on today so that I can explain it but...

Once again...

The strategy is to have multiple bets on one race.

The spreadsheet only shows the win and place strategies; once I have got the code for them finished I shall move onto the lay strategy.

It seems obvious to me that if we are sure that the top rated horse is going to win, we should be equally sure that the third rated horse (if cheap enough) has to lose.

The code to work out the selections is quite complex but I will get started on it today.

For full members of Intelligent Betting, obviously exactly the same principle can be applied to the RSR Plus ratings.

I shall attempt to get a spreadsheet for that done over the weekend so that, even though we won't have an automatic selection process for a few weeks...

I will be able to use that spreadsheet to manually produce the selections.

So now I guess that the only other thing I've got to do is to...

Invent a 25 hour day and an 8 day week so that I've got time to get it all done.

Task List...

In order to be honest and truly transparent with you...

I will now be publishing my task list on the Morning News.

You will be able to see what I am working on and, more importantly, what progress I am making.

Here are the current tasks...

T01). Work out a number of strategies to utilise R9 and provide Focus Rating members free Portfolio Betting selections across a number of different betting strategies (win backing, place backing, dutching, laying and, the other thing that I described that I don't know what it is called) on a daily basis.

T02). For Compass Ratings, display, on screen and via a email PDF, the twice weekly updated trainer/jockey win/place strike rates.

T03). For Compass Ratings, complete the eBook that explains all the weird and wonderful things that I have learned about Hong Kong Horse racing.

T04). Complete PaperTradeIt.com - a free site where you can privately log your bets and get Strike Rate, POI (to ISP and BSP) data and losing run analysis on those bets.

T05). Re-launch Intelligent-Betting.com - very good good things are happening there as we speak and it is becoming a vital (and also, very profitable) tool for those who like to think about their betting.

I'm trying to knock off the easy/quick jobs first in order to reduce the size of the list; the size of the list scares me sometimes and, believe me, I have twice as many jobs on the Admin/BAU (Business As Usual - things like automated scripts, backups and server log file analysis - stuff that all website owners have to do) task list to get through as well.

Focus Ratings

Here are the results in the Traffic Light Results PDF format... Yesterday's Traffic Light Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 25%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 21.88%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 13.73% from all 51 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 45.5 units returned to 83 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -45.18%

Top Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the top rated horses from 28 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 21 units returned to 28 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -25%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the second rated horses from 28 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 14.5 units returned to 28 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -48.21%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 27 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 10 units returned to 27 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -62.96%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 6 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 2 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 33.33%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 10 units returned to 6 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, 66.67%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 6 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 4 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 66.67%

Getting Old...

At a nursing home a group of seniors were sitting around talking about all their ailments. "My arms have gotten so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee," said one.

"Yes, I know," said another. "My cataracts are so bad I can't even see my coffee."

"I couldn't even mark an 'X' at election time, my hands are so crippled,"volunteered a third.

"What? Speak up! What? I can't hear you! said a fourth.

"I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck," said a fifth, to which several nodded weakly in agreement.

"My blood pressure pills make me so dizzy I can hardly walk!" exclaimed another.

"I forget where I am, and where I'm going," said an elderly gent.

"I guess that's the price we pay for getting old," winced an old man as he slowly shook his head. The others nodded in agreement.

"Well, count your blessings," said one woman cheerfully, "thankfully, we can all still drive."
