Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Another pretty decent day, yesterday,

At least, as far as the strike rate for the top rated horse is concerned.

We are currently running at a strike rate (for the top rate horse) of 28.48% which compares favourably to the 27.18% that we achieved last August (which was up from 26.46% the previous year.)

I am still trying to make sense of the observation that we do better in the earlier races.

As I overslept yesterday, I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to do further investigation but I do have a spreadsheet that just requires final analysis.

It may be seen at… http://focusratings.com/data/meetings.xls

I hope to get the final analysis finished today.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 27.27%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 26.47%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 25.71% from all 35 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 91.21 units returned to 98 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -6.93%

Top Rated Horse - There were 9 winners from the top rated horses from 33 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 23.67 units returned to 33 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -28.27%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 5 winners from the second rated horses from 31 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 21.29 units returned to 31 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -31.32%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the third rated horses from 34 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 46.25 units returned to 34 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 36.03%

Something to make you smile...

Sitting by the window of her convent, Sister Barbara opened a letter from home one evening. Inside the letter was a £100 her parents had sent.

Sister Barbara smiled at the gesture. As she read the letter by the window, she noticed a shabbily dressed stranger leaning against the lamp post below.

Quickly, she wrote, "Don't despair. Sister Barbara," on a piece of paper, wrapped the £100 in it, got the man's attention and tossed it out the window to him. The stranger picked it up, and with a puzzled expression and a tip of his hat, went off down the street.

The next day, Sister Barbara was told that a man was at her door, insisting on seeing her. She went down, and found the stranger waiting. Without a word, he handed her a huge wad of £50 notes.

"What's this?" she asked.

"That's the £8,000 you have coming Sister," he replied..

"Don't Despair paid 80 to 1.”
