Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Well, a good day and a bad day, yesterday...

The good news is that our Place Betting Strategy came back with a vengeance with some excellent results!

Much of our monthly losses have been regained in just one day!

And that's the good news.

The bad news is that my mother died (peacefully in her sleep) on Friday night and, as a result, I shall be taking a few days off.

Thus, I may not be replying to emails as quickly as I should be over the next few days; Jill will be holding the fort.

There are going to be a few days when I have to go back to the UK for the funeral (late next week or early the week after) and I'll be similarly email absent during that time.

I'll keep you informed about that.

Anyway, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 20.45%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 22.34%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 18% from all 50 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 89.3 units returned to 137 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -34.82%

Top Rated Horse - There were 9 winners from the top rated horses from 44 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 33.55 units returned to 44 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -23.75%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 9 winners from the second rated horses from 45 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 33 units returned to 45 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -26.67%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the third rated horses from 48 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 22.75 units returned to 48 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -52.6%

Something to make you smile

Now, I have to admit that yesterday was a pretty shit day for me but...

David O's email did make me snigger a bit (even if I felt guilty about sniggering about it - Mum would have loved it, anyway!)...

Ahhhhh the wisdom of the ages.

A female CNN journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem to pray, twice a day, every day, for a long, long time.

To check it out, she went to the Wall, and there he was, walking slowly up to the holy site.

She watched him pray, and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave, using a cane and moving very slowly, she approached him for an interview.

"Pardon me Sir, I'm Rebecca Smith from CNN. What's your name?"

"Morris Feinberg," he replied.

"Sir, how long have you been coming to the Wailing Wall to pray?"

"For about 60 years."

"60 years! That's amazing! What do you pray for?"

"I pray for peace between the Christians, the Jews and the Muslims. I pray for all the wars and all the hatred to stop. I pray for all our children to grow up safely as responsible adults, and to love their fellow man."

"And how do you feel , Sir, after doing this for 60 years?"

"It's like talking to a f***ing brick wall."

Mum would have just loved that!

And my pathetic effort...

Who needs Slim-Fast? I'm losing pounds like nothing else on the Cheltenham plan!

My Mum would have said that "You need the Cornish Pasty diet - you won't lose any weight but you'll feel so good not doing so!"

I rather think that you need to have tasted one of my Mum's Cornish Pasties to understand that!

Today's early test ratings show 35 rated races from five meetings.

Have a great day's racing!
