Good morning...

Although yesterday wasn't so good for the Focus Ratings R9 Portfolio selections...

I'm not too worried as Mondays are often quite strange for us.

We tend to either do very well or, as yesterday, not so well at all.

Today's racing looks more consistent and I'm hoping for better results.

Until I commercialise the R9 Portfolio selections (possibly about a month away) they are free to Focus Ratings, EarlyBird Ratings, Place Profits and Intelligent Betting (free or paying) members – just email me and I’ll put you on the list.

Task List...

In order to be honest and truly transparent with you...

I will now be publishing my task list on the Morning News.

You will be able to see what I am working on and, more importantly, what progress I am making.

Here are the current tasks...

T01). Work out a number of strategies to utilise R9 and provide Focus Rating members free Portfolio Betting selections across a number of different betting strategies (win backing, place backing, dutching, laying and,
the other thing that I described that I don't know what it is called) on a daily basis.

T02). For Compass Ratings, display, on screen and via a email PDF, the twice weekly updated trainer/jockey win/place strike rates.

T03). For Compass Ratings, complete the eBook that explains all the weird and wonderful things that I have learned about Hong Kong Horse racing.

T04). Complete PaperTradeIt.com - a free site where you can privately log your bets and get Strike Rate, POI (to ISP and BSP) data and losing run analysis on those bets.

I'm trying to knock off the easy/quick jobs first in order to reduce the size of the list; the size of the list scares me sometimes and, believe me, I have twice as many jobs on the Admin/BAU (Business As Usual - things like automated scripts, backups and server log file analysis - stuff that all website owners have to do) task list to get through as well.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 39.57 units returned to 74 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -46.53%

Top Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the top rated horses from 24 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 9.87 units returned to 24 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -58.87%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the second rated horses from 25 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 27.45 units returned to 25 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 9.8%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 1 winners from the third rated horses from 25 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 2.25 units returned to 25 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -91%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 9 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 1 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 11.11%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 3.12 units returned to 9 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, -65.33%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 9 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 5 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 55.56%

Something to make you smile...

One day, Einstein has to speak at an important science conference...

On the way there, he tells his driver that looks a bit like him:

"I'm sick of all these conferences. I always say the same things over and over!"

The driver agrees: "You're right. As your driver, I attended all of them, and even though I don't know anything about science, I could give the conference in your place."

"That's a great idea!" says Einstein. "Let's switch places then!"

So they switch clothes and as soon as they arrive, the driver dressed as Einstein goes on stage and starts giving the usual speech, while the real Einstein, dressed as the car driver, attends it.

But in the crowd, there is one scientist who wants to impress everyone and thinks of a very difficult question to ask Einstein, hoping he won't be able to respond. So this guy stands up and interrupts the conference by posing his very difficult question. The whole room goes silent, holding their breath, waiting for the response.

The driver looks at him, dead in the eye, and says :

"Sir, your question is so easy to answer that I'm going to let my driver reply to it for me."
