Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Not too sure what to say about yesterday.

It started very well but went a bit pear shaped as the day went on.

Likewise, I had high hopes for the Place Betting Strategy but there were 2 non runners out of the 8 selections which didn't help.

Still, we can console ourselves with the fact that England won at football.

And I have a good joke to share with you (Thanks to Derek M.) even if I did have to read it twice before I understood it!

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 20.41%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 19.61%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 22.64% from all 53 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 93.96 units returned to 145 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -35.2%

Top Rated Horse - There were 10 winners from the top rated horses from 49 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 26.86 units returned to 49 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -45.18%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the second rated horses from 47 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 18 units returned to 47 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -61.7%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the third rated horses from 49 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 49.1 units returned to 49 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 0.2%

Help at the roadside...

People often complain about the police, but you rarely hear about the positive things they do, such as this incident involving a biker and a frozen carburetor.

Last January on a bitterly cold winter's day, a North Dakota State Trooper on patrol came upon a motorcyclist who was stalled by the roadside. The biker was swathed in heavy protective clothing and wearing a full-face helmet to protect the face from the cold weather.

“What’s the matter?" asked the Trooper

"Carburettor's frozen," was the terse reply.

"Pee on it. That'll thaw it out."

"I can't," said the biker.

"OK, watch me closely and I'll show you." The Trooper unzipped and promptly warmed the carburetor as promised.

Moments later the bike started and the rider drove off, waving.

A few days later, the local State Troopers’ office received a note of thanks from the father of the motorcyclist.

It began: "On behalf of my daughter Jill..."
