Good morning...
Yesterday I mentioned that... "A ratings service really does need to be consistent."
And, that we were pretty consistent around the 25% strike rate (although I'd prefer to be pretty consistent around the 30% strike rate.)
And, guess what...
We had a 30% strike rate yesterday.
And 4 Tricasts/Trifectas as well!
Before I go into detail, let's look at yesterday's results....
Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 30.77%.
I have to say that I'm pretty happy with that.
Forecasts
There was one forecast yesterday.
Ludlow 12:20 - The CSF paid £12.92
Tricast
There were four tricasts yesterday.
Ludlow 12:50 - The Tricast paid £246.13
Newbury 13:40 - The Trifecta paid £80.30
Kempton 16:05 - The Trifecta paid £5.50
Kempton 18:10 - The Trifecta paid £4.60
Winners
From the 27 rated races there were 14 winners (from the top 3 rated horses) - six of those were at a decent prices.
Course | Time | Horse | ISP | BSP |
Lingfield | 14:00 | Planetoid | 7.0 | 7.13 |
Newbury | 14:15 | Tinker Time | 11.0 | 16.46 |
Lingfield | 15:10 | Indus Valley | 6.0 | 7.2 |
Newbury | 15:20 | Amour Dor | 5.5 | 6.0 |
Kempton | 17:10 | Hill of Dreams | 7.5 | 8.55 |
Kempton | 18:40 | Rizal Park | 5.5 | 6.4 |
Comments...
Here's the actual review of some of the races...

So, a day of Forecasts and Tricasts/Trifectas.
And that makes me a very happy bunny!
There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.
On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.
You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.
If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.
And finally...
Winter Upgrades
I've written a post to detail the Winter Upgrades - you can see it here... Winter Upgrades
I am updating that post to show which upgrades have been implemented and, where possible, to indicate when I think that an upgrade may be implemented.
Yesterday was largely spent working on the Builder.
I should be able to implement some of the upgrades today (once testing and auditing is complete.)
However.
My Silly Question of the Day is...
Do any of you have any problems if I alter the Jockey and Trainer names (on the ratings PDFs only) from...
For example,
Joe Bloggs to J Bloggs
This would allow me to pack in some of the new information that I am working on.
Early Birds and Early Morning Ratings
If you want to take a look at the early test ratings...
Today's 5am early test ratings are available here... Early Test Ratings
Today's ratings show 28 races from 4 meetings.
I hate to say this but...
It looks a lot like yesterday.
I hope that we get the same strike rate.
I did notice that, yesterday, every race where the top rated horse had a confidence level of 140% or greater, we got either a Tricast/Trifecta or a Forecast.
That makes me look at...
Kempton 18:15 - This is the only race that fits the above profile.
I'm also (possibly as a result of looking at Speed Ratings) interested in going performance.
Exeter 13:50 - Our top rated horse clearly likes Soft going, with 3 wins and 5 places over soft going.
Anyway, as always...
Have a great day's racing!
Once again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to Focus Ratings Review and have your say.
As always...
My kindest regards
