Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A more interesting day, yesterday.

Our Bankers Bet won but we made a small loss on the PBS selections.

However, we're still showing a pretty excellent profit for the month.

Now, I have a silly question to ask...

Actually, a series of them.

Here goes...

Irish Horses..

When an Irish trainer brings a horse to the UK to race, does the horse stay in stables in the UK or get shipped over and go straight back after the race?

I told you these questions were silly.

If the horse stays in the stables in the UK, do they belong to the trainer?

Do Irish trainers bring horses over to the UK for just one race or is it more likely to be for a season?

If the answer to the above question is both, how do you know if the horse is coming over for just one race?

If a horse has raced in the UK and then goes back to Ireland, is its performance affected?

These are all R5 related questions and once I get to grip with the concept, then I'll be able to analyse some numbers.

If you can see where I'm going here, or if you know about Irish racing, please feel free to drop me a mail to explain it to my befuddled little brain.

Obviously, tomorrow I may well be ask the same question but, in reverse (do British trainers send their horses to Ireland to race?) - be warned!

So, now I've got you pondering the question of life, the universe and everything (including Irish trainers and horses) over your cornflakes, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Something to make you laugh

Another one from David O.

Ever wonder...

Why do supermarkets make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

Why do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

Why do banks leave vault doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.

Why do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds in our driveways and put our useless junk in the garage.

Why do we buy hamburgers in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight..

Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?

Why can't women put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?

Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?

Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavouring, and dish washing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why isn't there mouse-flavoured cat food?

Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!

Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?
