Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Well, I hope that those of you who live in the South-West weren't too badly affected by yesterday's storms.

The weather was pretty impressive here in North-West Brittany but I was too scared (or is that sensible?) to go out in the car to review the effects.

I'm sure that it's totally unrelated but Betfair is down for me this morning so I can't put in any Betfair prices; I'll update the figures when the site is available.

We had two PBS selections yesterday, one of which was a non-runner. The remaining selection was unplaced.

Once again, I'll update the spreadsheet once I can get my hands on the numbers.

There's not much that I can say about yesterday as the power kept dimming (probably something to do with the 140km/h winds) so I decided switch of the computers and read a book instead. However, we got a good strike rate from the few races that were run.

Anyway, enough of that, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 35%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 35%.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 39.75 units returned to 59 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -32.63%

Top Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the top rated horses from 20 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 15.59 units returned to 20 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -22.05%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the second rated horses from 19 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 12.66 units returned to 19 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -33.37%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 20 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 11.5 units returned to 20 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -42.5%

Something to make you laugh

Couple of Dollars

A man was walking in the city, when he was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking bum who asked him for a couple of dollars for dinner.

The man took out his wallet, extracted two dollars and asked, "If I gave you this money, will you take it and buy whiskey?"

"No, I stopped drinking years ago," the bum said.

"Will you use it to gamble?"

"I don't gamble. I need everything I can get just to stay alive."

"Will you spend the money on greens fees at a golf course?"

"Are you NUTS! I haven't played golf in 20 years!"

The man said, "Well, I'm not going to give you two dollars. Instead, I'm going to take you to my home for a terrific dinner cooked by my wife."

The bum was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty bad."

The man replied, "That's OK. I just want her to see what a man looks like who's given up drinking, gambling, and golf."

Today

Today's early test ratings show 18 rated races from three meetings.

Every race is rated.
