Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

77.78% of all races, yesterday, were won by a top three rated horse.

One in three races yesterday were won by a top rated horse.

I can live with numbers like that.

And, we've also had 3 winning days out of the last 4 for our PBS selections and...

As a result, we've clawed back most of our losses.

So, all in all, I'm quite happy with yesterday's results.

Anyway, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 33.33%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 35.71%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 32.14% from all 28 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 69.56 units returned to 82 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -15.17%

Top Rated Horse - There were 9 winners from the top rated horses from 27 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 25.23 units returned to 27 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -6.56%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the second rated horses from 28 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 25.33 units returned to 28 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -9.54%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 5 winners from the third rated horses from 27 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 19 units returned to 27 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -29.63%

Something to make you laugh

Mary Ann

Paddy sits down to read the paper and his wife runs in with the frying pan and whallops him over the head.

He says "FFS love, what was that for?"

She replied "I was going through your trousers and found a bit of paper with the name Mary Ann on it."

He laughed (in Pain) and said "Ahh, last week on the racecourse there was a horse I fancied called Mary Ann so I wrote it down on the paper."

Hesitantly she believed him.

The following Sunday he sat down to read the paper again and this time she ran in with the BIG frying pan and knocked him out......

When he woke up and asked "Why?????"

She answered "You know that horse called Mary Ann" and he nodded and she shouted "WELL SHE FECKIN RANG LAST NIGHT!"

Call God

An American photographer on vacation was inside a church in Oldham taking photographs when he noticed a golden telephone mounted on the wall with a sign that read '£10,000 per call'.

The American, being intrigued, asked a priest who was strolling by what the telephone was used for.

The priest replied that it was a direct line to heaven and that for £10,000 you could talk to God.

The American thanked the priest and went along his way.

Next stop was in Manchester

There, at a very large cathedral, he saw the same golden telephone with the same sign under it.

He wondered if this was the same kind of telephone he saw in Oldham and he asked a nearby nun what its purpose was.

She told him that it was a direct line to heaven and that for £10,000 he could talk to God.

'O.K., thank you,' said the American.

He then travelled to Blackburn, Burnley, Rochdale, Littleborough and Todmorden.

In every church he saw the same golden telephone with the same '£10,000 per call' sign under it.

The American, upon leaving Lancashire decided to travel to Yorkshire to see if Yorkshiremen had the same phone.

Travelling down the Calder Valley from Todmorden he crossed the county boundary and soon arrived in Halifax and then on to Pudsey near Leeds, and there, in the first church he entered, was the same golden telephone, but this time the sign under it read '50 pence per call.'

The American was surprised so he asked the priest about the sign. 'Father, I've travelled all over Lancashire and I've seen this same golden telephone in many churches. I'm told that it is a direct line to heaven, but in Lancashire the price was £10,000 per call. Why is it so cheap here?'

The priest smiled and answered, 'You're in Yorkshire now, lad... it's a local call.'
