Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

I expect that you're expecting me to waffle on about the 40.74% strike rate for our top rated horse yesterday.

Or to crow about the 41.38% strike rate that the Live Ratings produced.

But what I'm really interested in is the 81.48% strike rate for the top three rated horses.

In my humble opinion, that's a far more important number.

If we could somehow manage to improve that to 100% then, for every race (let's say with an average of 12 runners) we could throw away nine of those runners and just focus on the remaining three.

An then we have a host of betting opportunities that we can tailor to each individual race.

Anyway, we'll never hit 100% strike rate for the top three rated horses but I intend to try to get as close as is possible. In the meantime, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 40.74%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 41.38%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 36.67% from all 30 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 74.07 units returned to 82 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -9.67%

Top Rated Horse - There were 11 winners from the top rated horses from 27 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 32.19 units returned to 27 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, 19.22%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 9 winners from the second rated horses from 28 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 38.41 units returned to 28 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 37.18%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 2 winners from the third rated horses from 27 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 3.47 units returned to 27 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -87.15%

This is priceless. Thanks, once again, to Iain A.

Only in America?

Sometimes it DOES take a Rocket Scientist!! (true story)

British scientists at Rolls Royce built a gun specifically to launch dead chickens at the windshields of airliners and military jets all travelling at maximum velocity.

The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with airborne fowl to test the strength of the windshields.

American engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on the Windshields of their new high speed trains.

Arrangements were made, and a gun was sent to the American engineers.

When the gun was fired, the engineers stood shocked as the chicken hurled out of the barrel, crashed into the shatterproof shield, smashed it to smithereens, blasted through the control console, snapped the engineer's back-rest in two and embedded itself in the back wall of the cabin like an arrow shot from a bow..

The horrified Yanks sent Rolls Royce the disastrous results of the experiment, along with the designs of the windshield and begged the British scientists for suggestions.

You're going to love this......

Rolls Royce responded with a one-line memo:

"Defrost the chicken."
