Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Well, we're inching forward to that 30% strike rate (for the month) for our top rated horse.

That's what I always wanted for our current version of the ratings; I'm going to stretch myself and demand a 35% strike rate for the new version of the ratings (R5) but that's only because, if you don't stretch yourself, you never improve.

There's an old Chinese proverb which sort of says... "Man/Archer who never has a target, never hits bloody target!"

Perhaps I've slightly mistranslated that proverb?

Yesterday was quite boring with only 3 meetings but we hit my target of a 30% strike rate for our top rated horse so I guess that I should be happy.

Today looks equally boring - sorry about that, I don't get to set the racing or the meetings.

I fully expect that the profile of today's racing will match that of the last two days.

Thus, we should get the same sort of results.

Taunton looks a bit dodgy as all the races are 2m plus and, if the going is as heavy as predicted, the ground might be churned up a bit for the later races.

You might want to bear that in mind.

I spent yesterday doing loads of work on R5 and, as a result, I hope that I can finally start showing some of the results today or, at worst, over the next few days - it's been a long hard run but it'll be worth it in the end.

I really do appreciate your patience in this matter - it's very important to me that I get it right first time round.

Oops, one last thing; I've been doing some work to ensure that the ratings and the system selections start coming out earlier. It's early days but I can say that you all should have received your ratings by 9:15 yesterday and the last System Selections got sent out at 10:56am - I'll try to speed things up a bit for the System Selections.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Something to make you smile...

Once again, from Jill...

When’s it appropriate to ……..use an ‘F’ word.

There are times when an ‘F ' word is not only desirable, but quite frankly, it can be the only word in the English language that accurately describes some situations. Check out the following examples.

And the "F" Word....

'Fright' of course! Whatever were you thinking?

Don't answer that!

Today's early test ratings show 20 rated races from three meetings.

Have a great day's racing!

As always...

My kindest regards
