Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

So, another decent day for the ratings.

The slow start did worry me but things picked up as the day went on.

Now, yesterday was the the third day in the row where we didn't have any PBS selections.

That seemed strange to me, and also to David who emailed me to enquire.

When I got home from a day out I took a closer look.

Of the 34 races yesterday, 22 were handicaps and, thus, not usable for the Place Betting Strategy.

Of the remaining 12 non handicap races, 2 had less than 5 runners.

Of the remaining 10 races, none qualified for the strategy.

So, with that sorted out, lets go on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 31.25%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 29.41%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 31.43% from all 35 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 56.67 units returned to 98 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -42.17%

Top Rated Horse - There were 10 winners from the top rated horses from 32 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 29.39 units returned to 32 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -8.16%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the second rated horses from 33 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 12.03 units returned to 33 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -63.55%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 33 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 15.25 units returned to 33 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -53.79%

Something to make you laugh

How Many Dogs?

How many dogs does it take to change a light bulb?"

Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we have our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?

Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

Dachshund: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp!

Rottweiler: Make me.

Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.

Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeeeze, please, please, please!

German Shepherd: I'll change it as soon as I lead these people from the dark, check to make sure I don't miss any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one takes advantage of the situation.

Jack Russell Terrier: I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture.

Old English Sheep Dog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb!

Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.

Chihuahua: Yo quiero Taco Bulb.

Pointer: I see it, there it is, there it is, right there.....

Greyhound: It isn't moving. Who cares?

Australian Shepherd: First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle...

Poodle: I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

"Dogs do not change light bulbs. People change light bulbs. So, the real question is: How long will it be before I can expect some light, some dinner, and a massage?"

All of which proves, once again, that while dogs have masters, cats have staff.

A Texan in Ireland

A Texan walks in to a pub in Ireland and clears his voice to the crowd of drinkers. He says, I hear you Irish are a bunch of hard drinkers. Ill give $500 American dollars to anybody in here who can drink 10 pints of Guinness back-to-back.

The room is quiet, and no one takes up the Texans offer. One man even leaves.

Thirty minutes later the same gentleman who left shows back up and taps the Texan on the shoulder. Is your bet still good? asks the Irishman.

The Texan says yes and asks the bartender to line up 10 pints of Guinness. Immediately the Irishman tears into all 10 of the pint glasses, drinking them all back-to-back.

The other pub patrons cheer as the Texan sits in amazement. The Texan gives the Irishman the $500 and says, If ya dont mind me askin, where did you go for that 30 minutes you were gone?

The Irishman replies, Oh I had to go to the pub down the street to see if I could do it first.

Today

Today's early test ratings show 32 rated races from five meetings.

Have a great day's racing!

As always...

My kindest regards
