Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A very quiet day, yesterday, with only 15 races.

But, we seemed to do rather well...

With a very agreeable strike rate (for the top rated horse) of 46.67% and...

Our Portfolio bet won at 5/1!

Which was a nice end of year treat (and that reminds me) - because of the late night tonight, there is almost certainly not going to be a morning news tomorrow as I don't intend getting up before lunchtime!

But, before I get onto that stuff, let's look at yesterday's results....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 46.67%.

Which makes me a rather happy bunny!

Forecasts

There was one forecast yesterday.

Taunton 14:00 - The CSF paid £3.79

Tricast

There were no tricasts yesterday.

Winners

From the 15 rated races there were 9 winners (from the top 3 rated horses) - two of those were at reasonable prices.

Course Time Horse ISP BSP
Lingfield 13:20 Salmon Sushi 6.0 6.2
Lingfield 13:50 Admirable Art 7.0 7.84

Comments...

Here's the actual review of some of the races...

1). Lingfield 12:50 - We predicted the first three horses - unfortunately in the wrong order.

2). Taunton 14:00 - We predicted the forecast in this race. The CSF paid £3.79.

Yesterday I mentioned that... Our top rated horse has a confidence level of 174.01% and is dropping in class. It is also the Jockey's only ride at that meeting and the Trainer's only horse at the meeting. Aso has won and been placed over the predicted soft going but, the market seems to agree as Oddschecker shows it at odds-on.

For once, I got that right.

The Portfolio

There was a Banker's Bet yesterday (but no Chancer's Bet.)

Bankers Bet = AW Maidens - RC1 greater than 84% - Top Rated horse with an LTO of less than 42 days. - where R4 Status = 1 and where Race Type = All Weather and where the Race is a Maiden Race and Horse\'s last run was less than 42 days ago and the Race\'s RC1 is greater than 84%

Selection = Back to ISP - Lingfield (AW) - 13:20:00 - Salmon Sushi (1)

Races (over last year): 35 Wins: 21 Strike Rate: 60.00% ROI: 153.00% AV SP: 2.55%

Salmon Sushi won at 6.0 ISP (6.2 BSP.)

On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.

Any other business

And finally...

strong>Winter Upgrades

I've written a post to detail the Winter Upgrades - you can see it here... Winter Upgrades

I am updating that post to show which upgrades have been implemented and, where possible, to indicate when I think that an upgrade may be implemented.

I have been doing some background infrastructure work to allow me to continue the Winter upgrade work.

Speed Ratings

I have re-jigged my IT so that I now have a machine that is dedicated to working on the Speed Ratings.

I'm going to kick off a new set of calculations today but I have no idea how long they will take to run.

Thus, the work will continue but I won't have much to say about it until all the numbers are crunched.

Today

Today's ratings show 27 races from 4 meetings.

The only standout race is...

Punchestown 12:45 - Our top rated horse, The Job is Right, has a confidence level of 171.91% and is a recent returner. He is showing a massive improvement in rating over his average rating and has shown that he can cope with the going (2 wins and 3 places over soft going.) Someone recently told me that Willie Mullins' horses tend to be overbet which might mean that there is some value here (the other two top three rated horses are trained by W.P. Mullins.)

Nothing else makes me choke on my cornflakes although there do seem to be lots of Unique Jockeys and Trainers today.

So, have a great day's racing!

5 star ratingsOnce again, if you've got anything to say about Focus Ratings, please wander over to Focus Ratings Review and have your say.

As always...

My kindest regards
