Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Once again, a silly day but...

I think that the secret is knowing where the ratings work and where they don't.

They're obviously better for the first page as yesterday's results show.

That's not to say that they're terrible later on in the day; we seem to do well with the evening AW races but, on difficult days (as yesterday was), the obvious spoils seem to be earlier on in the day.

Yeasterday there were 6 races on the first page.

FPS: 4 selections which gave us 6.2605 points returned for 4 points staked @ a 75% SR.

PBS: 2 selections which gave us 3.363 points returned for 2 points staked @ a 100% SR.

Blindly backing the top rated horse (on the forst page of the ratings): 6 selections which gave us 7.505 points returned for 6 points staked @ a 16.66% SR.

Many people would be happy with what is effectively 12 bets and all the racing done by 14:50.

Overall, 17.1285 points returned for 12 points staked and we've sort of covered all the bases: if the ratings aren't good then we seem to make it up on the PBS and FPS selections.

For the Blindly backing the top rated horse on the first page of the ratings, I'd actually remove all Odds on and Evens FC races as there is still a risk but not much profit to be had.

Yesterday that would have removed 2 races and we would have made (for that strategy) 7.5055 points for 4 points staked.

That would give us a couple of extra points to carry on racing for a bit longer whilst still giving us a decent profit.

And that's just the first page of the ratings!

So, with some clever betting and some clever thinking, even though we didn't do so well for the strike rate for the top rated horse yesterday,

We could still have made a bit of money.

Something to think about?

OK - I'm going to have to show off a little bit!

Please forgive me for what's about to happen...

For our Place Betting Strategy, over the first 5 days of April we have had 12 bets (and, thus, 12 points staked) and have made, to level stakes, 46.01 points profit!

Now, getting 46 points profit in five days after only 12 bets isn't so bad, is it?

So, big head time over...

Let's go and have a more detailed look at yesterday's results...

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 19.23%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 18.52%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 17.86% from all 28 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 57.11 units returned to 81 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -29.49%

Top Rated Horse - There were 5 winners from the top rated horses from 26 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 22.6 units returned to 26 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -13.08%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the second rated horses from 28 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 23.88 units returned to 28 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -14.71%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 27 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 10.63 units returned to 27 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -60.63%
