Good morning...

Nothing really stands out for me when thinking about yesterday's results.

We suffered worse on the bigger races...

There were two 28 runner handicaps at Punchestown where we didn't even get a place (from the top three rated horses.)

It was a bad day for the First Page Strategy and the Place Betting Strategy as well.

With 28 Handicap races today I'm not predicting a killer day but,

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 51.66 units returned to 91 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -43.23%

Top Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the top rated horses from 31 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 13.33 units returned to 31 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -57%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 4 winners from the second rated horses from 30 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 12.7 units returned to 30 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -57.67%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 6 winners from the third rated horses from 30 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 25.63 units returned to 30 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -14.57%

I have added a new section to the spreadsheet to indicate the results should we ignore the odds on selections.

For the refined strategy (the one that you should be using) we made a loss of 3.39 points yesterday and we have made a profit of 54.079992 points for April.

Something to make you laugh

William and his Dad

One Sunday morning William burst into the living room and said, "Dad! Mom! I have some great news for you!

I am getting married to the most beautiful girl in town. She lives a block away and her name is Susan."

After dinner, William's dad took him aside. "Son, I have to talk with you. Your mother and I have been married 30 years.

She's a wonderful wife but she has never offered much excitement in the bedroom, so I used to fool around with women a lot.

Susan is actually your half-sister, and I'm afraid you can't marry her."

William was heart-broken.

After eight months he eventually started dating girls again. A year later he came home and very proudly announced, "Diane said yes! We're getting married in June."

Again his father insisted on another private conversation and broke the sad news.

"Diane is your half-sister too, William. I'm awfully sorry about this."

William was furious!

He finally decided to go to his mother with the news.

"Dad has done so much harm. I guess I'm never going to get married," he complained. "Every time I fall in love, Dad tells me the girl is my half-sister."

His mother just shook her head.

"Don't pay any attention to what he says, dear. He's not really your father."
