Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Yesterday I was asked to provide a running total for our Place Betting System.

I know that I should have done this a long time ago but I never got round to doing it.

I have now added a new sheet to the results spreadsheet which lists the running total.

So far I have only done the totals for the original (level stakes) strategy and it shows the data in the image below.

The spreadsheet of all of the results (and the running total) is available at… http://focusratings.com/data/PBSJune.xls

2016-06-12--1465725538_379x386_scrot

So far in June we are up by just over 13 points so the actual rolling profit is about 68 points.

I will add the totals for the new strategy and the refined strategy today.

So, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 13.04%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 17.86%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 10.34% from all 29 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 51.36 units returned to 72 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -28.67%

Top Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the top rated horses from 23 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 11.12 units returned to 23 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -51.65%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 8 winners from the second rated horses from 24 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 32.36 units returned to 24 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 34.83%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 3 winners from the third rated horses from 24 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 7.88 units returned to 24 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -67.17%

Something to make you laugh

True Doctor Stories...

Dr. Richard Byrnes, Seattle, WA

One day I had to be the bearer of bad news when I told a wife that her husband had died of a massive myocardial infarct.

Not more than five minutes later, I heard her reporting to the rest of the family that the had died of a "massive internal fart."

Dr. Susan Steinberg, Manitoba, Canada

I was performing a complete physical, including the visual acuity test.

I placed the patient twenty feet from the chart and began, "Cover your right eye with your hand."

He read the 20/20 line perfectly.

"Now your left."

Again, a flawless read.

"Now both," I requested .

There was silence.

He couldn't even read the large E on the top line.

I turned and discovered that he had done exactly what I had asked; he was standing there with both his eyes covered.

I was laughing too hard to finish the exam.

Dr. Matthew Theodropolous, Worcester, MA

During a patient's two week follow-up appointment with his cardiologist, he informed me, his doctor, that he was having trouble with one of his medications. "Which one?" I asked.

"The patch. The nurse told me to put on a new one every six hours and now I'm running out of places to put it!"

I had him quickly undress and discovered what I hoped I wouldn't see.

Yes, the man had over fifty patches on his body!

Now the instructions include removal of the old patch before applying a new one.

Dr. Rebecca St. Clair, Norfolk, VA

While acquainting myself with a new elderly patient, I asked, "How long have you been bed-ridden?"

After a look of complete confusion she answered "Why, not for about twenty years -- when my husband was alive."

Dr. Steven Swanson, Corvallis, OR

I was caring for a woman from Kentucky and asked, "So, how's your breakfast this morning?"

""It's very good, except for the Kentucky Jelly I can't seem to get used to the taste," the patient replied.

I then asked to see the jelly and the woman produced a foil packet labeled "KY Jelly."

Dr. Leonard Kransdorf, Detroit, MI

And Finally . . . A new, young MD doing his residency in OB was quite embarrassed performing female pelvic exams.

To cover his embarrassment he had unconsciously formed a habit of whistling softly.

The middle aged lady upon whom he was performing this exam suddenly burst out laughing and further embarrassed him.

He looked up from his work and sheepishly said, "I'm sorry. Was I tickling you?"

She replied, "No doctor, but the song you were whistling was 'I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Wiener."

Today

Today's early test ratings show 36 rated races from five meetings.

Have a great day's racing!

As always...

My kindest regards
