Good morning...
On the face of it...
Not a wonderful day for the ratings but, if you delve a little bit deeper, there is good news to be found.
Our First Page Strategy made a profit, albeit a small one, and a total of 5.6715 points (after commission) were returned to 4 points staked.
This means for this strategy for this month so far we have had 29.951 points (after commission) returned to 26 points staked.
For the second day in a row our Place Betting Strategy made a profit and we are slowly but surely clawing our way back towards being in profit for the month.
And just look at the strike rate for the top three rated horses in the non-handicap races - from these races 81.25% were won by a top three rated horse.
Now I have to admit that I'm struggling a bit to some up with a strategy for profiting from these sorts of numbers but I realised yesterday that I was looking for a One Size Fits All strategy whereas it's probably better to come up with two or three separate strategies to give us the results we're looking for.
Today is a day off for me and I'm planning to go to a lake about 8 miles from me for a little paddle.
Anyway, that's for later, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....
Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 17.78%.
Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 16.33%.
Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 15.69% from all 51 Races (including previously unrated races.)
The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 110.38 units returned to 131 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, -15.74%
Top Rated Horse - There were 8 winners from the top rated horses from 45 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 22.75 units returned to 45 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -49.44%
2nd Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the second rated horses from 41 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 31 units returned to 41 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -24.39%
3rd Rated Horse - There were 10 winners from the third rated horses from 45 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 56.63 units returned to 45 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 25.84%
Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 16 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 4 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 25%
Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 7 units returned to 16 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, -56.25%
Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 16 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 13 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 81.25%

And my personal set of life rules...
Amazingly Simple Home Remedies:
1. Avoid Cutting Yourself When Slicing Vegetables By Getting Someone Else To Hold The Vegetables While You Chop.
2. Avoid Arguments With The Females About Lifting The Toilet Seat By Using The Sink.
3. For High Blood Pressure Sufferers: Simply Cut Yourself And Bleed For A Few Minutes, Thus Reducing The Pressure On Your Veins. Remember To Use A Timer.
4. A Mouse Trap Placed On Top Of Your Alarm Clock Will Prevent You From Rolling Over And Going Back To Sleep After You Hit The Snooze Button.
5. If You Have A Bad Cough, Take A Large Dose Of Laxatives. Then You'll Be Afraid To Cough.
6. You Only Need Two Tools In Life: Wd-40 And Duct Tape. If It Doesn't Move And Should, Use The Wd-40. If It Shouldn't Move And Does, Use The Duct Tape.
7. If You Can't Fix It With A Hammer, You've Got An Electrical Problem.
Today's early test ratings show 35 rated races from five meetings.
Have a great day's racing!
As always...
My kindest regards
