Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A strange day yesterday.

Only three meetings and one of those was the first meeting at the new Great Leighs course, now known as Chelmsford City.

Now, there's no way that the ratings can cope, on the first meeting, with a new course.

We did get one Trifecta yesterday and, overall, if you had backed every top three rated horse (to £1 stakes), you'd have had £49.46 returned for an outlay of £59.00

Not profitable, I know but...

Still a pretty good indicator of the abilities of the ratings.

That aside, let's look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 21.05%.

I'm not over the moon about that but I did expect some problems with Chelmsford and so I'm not too unhappy about it.

Forecasts

There were no forecasts yesterday.

Tricasts/Trifectas

There was one trifecta yesterday.

Kelso 12:40 - The Trifecta paid £21.60

Not as good as Saturday but if you'd done a Trifecta/Tricast in every qualifying race yesterday, you'd have made a profit.

Winners

From the 20 rated races there were 9 winners (from the top 3 rated horses) - 3 of those were at nice prices.

Course Time Horse ISP BSP
Fairyhouse 13:30 Rathpatrick 11.0 13.95
Chelmsford 14:20 Zac Brown 5.5 6.4
Kelso 15:10 Medicine Hat 15.0 16.96

Comments...

Here's the actual review of some of the races...

1). Kelso 12:40 – We got the first three in the right order in this race. The Trifecta paid £21.60

2). Kelso 13:40 – We got the first three in this race - unfortunately, not in the right order.

3). Chelmsford 14:50 – We got the first three in this race - unfortunately, not in the right order.

4). Kelso 15:10 – We got the first three in this race - unfortunately, not in the right order.

The Portfolio

There was neither a Banker's Bet yesterday (nor a Chancer's Bet.)

On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.

You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.

If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.

Today

Today's 5am ratings show 14 races from 2 meetings.

So, a very quiet day for me.

Plumpton 13:20 - Our top rated horse, Jebril, has a confidence level of 122.53% and has a going win and two going places to his credit. He is dropping 3 classes and is currently the favourite. His rating for today is 66% higher than his average rating.

I've got a whole load of articles primed and ready to publish - expect something today.

Oh, one last thing; thank you for some of the recent emails suggesting improvements and strategies - I'll be answering those emails today (I've sort of been avoiding emails and other distractions whilst I've been trying to get my head around the speed ratings.)

And, on the matter of Speed Ratings; some really weird things have been coming out of my research. Even if the Speed Ratings don't end up being much use in themselves, the additional data that is coming out of the process of producing them may end up raising a few eyebrows.

So, as always...

Have a great day's racing!
