Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

A strange day where...

Had you backed every top three rated horse in every rated race you would have made a slight profit.

Had you done the Trifecta in every rated race you would also have made a slight profit.

Had you done the Reverse Trifecta in every race you would have made a profit of about 800% on your stakes!

And had you blindly backed the top rated horse in every non-handicap race you would have had a strike rate of 35.71% and would have made a 15.14% profit on your stakes.

So, the overall strike rate is a bit misleading.

After all, Strike Rate is vanity - it's profits that count.

The work that I am doing is going rather more slowly than I'd hoped for but, today I shall be porting the Place Betting Strategy and the First Page Strategy results into a database table so that they will be available on the site - the spreadsheet is getting a bit too large.

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 20.59%.

Yesterday's Live Ratings, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 19.44%.

Yesterday's - Link to Follow - results for All Races (including previously unrated races), show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 18.92% from all 37 Races (including previously unrated races.)

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 106.37 units returned to 103 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 3.27%

Top Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the top rated horses from 34 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 26.12 units returned to 34 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -23.18%

2nd Rated Horse - There were 5 winners from the second rated horses from 35 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 20.25 units returned to 35 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, -42.14%

3rd Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the third rated horses from 34 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 60 units returned to 34 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 76.47%

Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 14 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 5 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 35.71%

Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 16.12 units returned to 14 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, 15.14%

Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 14 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 9 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 64.29%

Stiff Neck

A five year old boy comes to visit his grandparents and notices his grandfather sitting on the porch, in the rocker, wearing only a shirt, naked from the waist down.

"Grandpa, whatcha' doing? You're weenie's out and everybody can see!" he exclaimed.

Grandpa looked off in the distance, not answering.

"Grandpa, whatcha' doin' sitting out here with no pants on?" he asked again.

Grandpa looked at him and said, "Son, last week I sat here with no shirt on, Just watching the cars go by.... and I got a stiff neck.

This is your Grandma's idea."

Today

Today's early test ratings show 35 rated races from five meetings.

Have a great day's racing!

As always...
