Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Whilst not such a wonderful day for the ratings...

I managed to get quite a lot of work done yesterday,

Which is always good news to me.

I have managed to fix the problem with the Traffic Lights Results PDF (for all horses, not just the top three.)

Or, at least, I've fixed one of the problems and at least we've got traffic lights on this report now.

What I still need to fix is...

a). Adding the number of declared runners (in addition to the number of actual runners) and

b). Get the traffic lights right for when we have joint winners/seconds etc.

As you can see from the screenshot of yesterday's report...

2017-02-22--1487732653_379x346_scrot

The second race is displayed properly but, for the first race I should perhaps show a winner and two joint thirds.

I need to find out how the bookies pay out on joint winners/seconds etc. so that I can display the results more correctly.

Today I shall be adding in the number of declared runners and, with a bit of luck, the Betfair Starting Prices as well.

I have received a few emails asking about the new Recent Results Strategy.

We had 2 selections when we started and now it's gone a bit quite.

Well, yesterday I audited the code and found that the selection process is valid.

Whilst I was expecting about 6 races a week, it seems that, possibly because it's a quiet time of the year, we are not getting that now but I imagine that there will be a catch up later.

For more detail of yesterday's results, here are the results in the Traffic Light Results PDF format... Yesterday's Traffic Light Results

So, let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Something to make you smile...

One from John V.

Caring Parents
A husband and wife who work for the circus go to an adoption agency.

The Social workers raise doubts about the living conditions in a circus, but the couple produce photos of their 50-foot luxury motor home, which is clean and well-maintained and equipped with a beautiful nursery.

The social workers also raise concerns about the education a child would receive while in the couple's care.

"We've arranged for a full-time tutor who will teach the child all the usual subjects along with French, Mandarin and computer skills."

Then the social workers express concern about a child being raised in a circus environment.

"Our nanny is a certified expert in Paediatric care, Welfare and Diet."

The social workers are finally satisfied and ask, "What age child are you hoping to adopt?"

"It doesn't really matter as long as they fit in the cannon."

And one from Terry B...

The British and their Humour
1. After a night of drink, drugs and wild sex, John woke up to find himself next to a really ugly woman.

That's when he realised he had made it home safely.

2. Seven wheelchair athletes have been banned from the Para-Olympics after they tested positive for WD40.

3. A teenage boy asks his granny: “Have you seen my pills? They were labeled LSD?” Granny replies:“ The hell with the pills, did you see the dragons in the kitchen?”

4. Wife gets naked and asks hubby: “What turns you on more, my pretty face or my sexy body?”

Hubby looks her up and down and replies: “Your sense of humour!” (Hospital visiting hours are 5:00pm to 6:00pm.)

5. I've accidentally swallowed some Scrabble tiles. My next crap could spell disaster.

6. I woke up this morning at 9:30 , and could sense something was wrong.

I got downstairs and found the wife face down on the kitchen floor, not breathing!

I panicked.

I didn't know what to do.

Then I remembered McDonalds serves breakfast all day.

7. Bought the missus a hamster skin coat last week.

When we went to the fair last night it took me 3 hours to get her off the Ferris wheel.

8. The other night, my wife asked me how many women I'd slept with.

I told her: "Only you. All the others kept me awake all night!"

(The doctor says I should be able to see again in about ten days. The broken arm will take about a month.)

Today

Today's early test ratings show 31 rated races from five meetings.

One race is unrated.

Have a great day's racing!

As always...

My kindest regards
