Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

You know, I do think that Bob Geldof (or Sir Bob) is a pretty decent guy...

What with the Live Aid/Band Aid stuff but,

I do take issue with him on one point.

You see, I do like Mondays; we seem to do rather well on Mondays.

Take yesterday for example...

A 44.44% strike rate for our top rated horse is nothing to complain about.

Someone once told me that it was blindly profitable to back all the top rated horses every Monday throughout the year. I haven't done the analysis but I bet that, with a few simple filters, you'd probably end up with 3 winning/profitable days out of every 4.

Yesterday, for example, by doing that we would have made a 16.22% profit on our stakes.

If you'd just concentrated on the non-handicap races you would have had an 80% strike rate with a 33.20% profit on your stakes.

Last Monday, by the way, we had a strike rate of 44% - looks interesting to me.

Perhaps there's a strategy there?

Today I shall be concentrating on a bug where sometimes, some of you don't get your System yearly statistics updated. It's weird because my statistics are being updated properly so I guess that it may be a timing issue (my stats are the first to get updated) - perhaps the script that calculates the stats is running out of steam?

On Thursday I want to do a recap on our Strategies - this may become a weekly feature. I'll certainly be spending some time on Wednesday looking at a possible strategy for Monday betting.

For more detail, here are the results in the Traffic Light Results PDF format... Yesterday's Traffic Light Results

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Something to make you smile...

35 Years
It was mailman George's last day on the job after 35 years of delivering the mail through all kinds of weather. When he arrived at the first house on his route, the whole family came out, roundly congratulated him, and sent him on his way with a tidy gift envelope.

At the second house they presented him with a box of fine cigars. The folks at the third house handed him a selection of terrific fishing lures.

At the next house, he was met at the door by a strikingly beautiful woman in a revealing negligee. She took him by the hand, and led him up the stairs to the bedroom where she blew his mind with the most passionate love he had ever experienced.

When he'd had enough, they went downstairs, where she fixed him a giant breakfast: eggs, potatoes, ham, sausage, blueberry waffles and fresh-squeezed orange juice. When he was truly satisfied, she poured him a cup of steaming coffee. As she was pouring, he noticed a dollar bill sticking out from under the cup's bottom edge.

"All this is just too wonderful for words," he said, "but what's the dollar for?"

"Well," she said, "last night, I told my husband that today would be your last day, and that I wanted to do something special for you. I asked him what to give you. He said, 'Screw him. Give him a dollar.'"

"Breakfast was my idea."

Today

Today's early test ratings show 27 rated races from four meetings.

Have a great day's racing!

As always...

My kindest regards
