Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Well, it seems like an age since I've done one of these.

And I guess it is.

I've had some medical issues which seem to be getting better...

Although, that I find myself sat at the computer at 3am suggests otherwise.

I've finally managed to get the problem with the results PDFs fixed and will attempt to go back through all the missing days today so that the results show on the site are updated.

I shall also start on the backlog of emails awaiting replies - please be patient.

Yesterday was a pretty reasonable day with a strike rate (for the top rated horse) of 34.48% and a 66.67% strike rate for top rated horses in non handicap races.

Had you blindly backed every top rated horse in every race you would have made a profit of 37.50% on your stakes.

That was helped by a nice winner at Chelmsford - 18:10 - Four Fifty Three - 11.00 ISP - 16.16 BSP

For more detail, here are the results in the Traffic Light Results PDF format... Yesterday's Traffic Light Results

Anyway, I'll get to that, firstly let's get on and take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Something to make you smile...

As I've got a bit of catching up to do, there are two jokes for you today...

5 Riddles
1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms.

The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years.

Which room is safest for him?

2. A woman shoots her husband.

Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him.

But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?

3. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?

4. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday?

5. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious as to just how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is highly unusual though. Study it and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching!

THE ANSWERS TO ALL FIVE THE RIDDLES ARE BELOW:

Answers:

1. The third room. Lions that haven't eaten in three years are dead.
That one was easy, right?

2. The woman was a photographer. She shot a picture of her husband, developed it, and hung it up to dry (shot; held under water; and hung).

3. Charcoal, as it is used in barbecuing.

4. Sure you can name three consecutive days, yesterday, today, and tomorrow!

5. The letter e, which is the most common letter used in the English language, does not appear even once in the paragraph.

How did you do?

Hair Spray
A little boy and his grandfather are raking leaves in the yard.

The little boy finds an earthworm trying to get back into its hole.

He says, "Grandpa, I bet I can put that worm back in that hole."

The grandfather replies, "I'll bet you five dollars you can't. It's too wiggly and limp to put back in that little hole."

The little boy runs into the house and comes back out with a can of hairspray. He sprays the worm until it is straight and stiff as a board.

Then he puts the worm back into the hole.

The grandfather hands the little boy five dollars, grabs the hairspray, and runs into the house.

Thirty minutes later the grandfather comes back out and hands the little boy another five dollars.

The little boy says, "Grandpa, you already gave me five dollars."

The grandfather replies, "I know. That's from your grandma"
