Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Another decent day for us, yesterday and...

A 29.27% strike rate is not too shabby for April (one of the most difficult months of the year.)

The new R6 Plus ratings did slightly better with a strike rate (for the top rated horse) of 33.33%

However, I have something important to announce....

Investment Betting

Having recently published the new R6 and R6 Plus ratings (having been testing them for almost a year) I have had many emails asking how to best benefit from them.

Now, I do have a strategy based upon R6 Plus and proof the selections to Racing-Index.com. In order to do this I have to have a commercial site - my one is called InvestmentBetting.com. Now, I have never promoted InvestmentBetting.com and don't plan to do so in the immediate future; I'm not a natural tipster and I've got more than enough on my plate running a ratings agency - believe me!

However, rather than try to come up with some strategies from scratch to show the power of the R6 Plus ratings I have decided to share the Investment Betting selections with Focus Ratings members, instead.

Below is a screen shot of this morning's league table (we are in 4th place)...

The strategy is really quite simple...

I took all the R6 Plus race types (these are the blindly profitable race types where the top rated R5 horse is also the top rated Advance Ratings horse) and sorted them into strike rate order, descending. I then just took the 25 race types with the highest historical strike rates and the selections come from that sub set of R6 Plus race types.

I may further filter those races types as I seem to be getting too many selections each day for my liking - yesterday there were 7 selections and I'd personally prefer only 3 or 4. However, as we got 5 winners from those 7 selections I suppose that I shouldn't complain too much.

The selections will be emailed to you every morning at about 11am (but often well before then.)

If you have any questions, please fell free to ask away; I shall be writing a post which will detail the process and explain how I came up with the selections in the first place.

This is just a free added extra for Focus Ratings members - at heart I'm still a ratings person with a rating focused (please excuse the pun) brain. Even if you don't use the selections, you might be interested in the strategy behind them and re-work that for your own purposes.

Something to make you smile...

Old Duck

A man took his old duck to the Doctor, concerned because the duck wouldn't eat.

The Doctor explained to the man that as ducks age their upper bills grow down over their lower bills and make it difficult for the animal to pick up it's food.

"What you need to do is gently file the upper bill down even with the lower bill. But you must be extra careful because the duck's nostrils are located in the upper bill and if you file down too far, when the duck takes a drink of water it'll drown."

The man goes about his business and about a week later the Doctor runs into his patient.

"Well, how is that duck of yours?" the Doctor inquires.

"He's dead." declared the heartbroken man.

"I told you not to file his upper bill down too far! He took a drink of water and drowned didn't he?" insisted the Doctor.

"No." lamented the man. "I think he was dead before I took him out of the vise."
