Good morning...
A quieter day yesterday.
Although busy for me as I am getting to the end of my work on the Speed Ratings.
I also have a few other things lined up for the next few days,
And I'll be talking about them tomorrow.
So, in the meantime,
Let's take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....
Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 23.81%.
Not wonderful but not terrible either.
The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 44.31 units returned to 59 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 80.10%
Forecasts
There were three forecasts yesterday.
Musselburgh 13:00 - The CSF paid £11.85
Chelmsford 13:50 - The CSF paid £5.72
Musselburgh 14:00 - The CSF paid £2.88
Tricasts/Trifectas
There were two trifectas yesterday.
Chelmsford 13:50 - The Trifecta paid £10.90
Musselburgh 14:00 - The Trifecta paid £7.60
Winners
From the 21 rated races there were 13 winners (from the top 3 rated horses) - two of those were at nice prices.
Course | Time | Horse | ISP | BSP |
Punchestown | 14:10 | Total Recall | 6.5 | 8.37 |
Chelmsford | 16:20 | Sea Soldier | 6.5 | 6.9 |
Comments...
1). Musselburgh 13:00 - We started the day with a forecast. The CSF paid £11.85
2). Chelmsford 13:50 - We got the first three horses in the right order. The CSF paid £5.72 and the Trifecta paid £10.90
3). Musselburgh 14:00 - We got the first three horses in the right order. The CSF paid £2.88 and the Trifecta paid £7.60
4). Musselburgh 14:30 - We got the first three horses in this race. Unfortunately not in the right order.
5). Punchestown 14:40 - We got the first three horses in this race. Unfortunately not in the right order.
6). Punchestown 15:40 - We got the first three horses in this race. Unfortunately not in the right order.
My overall feeling is that Chelmsford/Great Leighs isn't turning out to be the disaster that I thought that it might be. We had a win in 3 of the 7 races.
Actually, in every race yesterday we got either a win or a place.
There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.
On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.

Yesterday, the horses with the highest Average R4 in the race were as follows...
The odds are to the Betfair Place Market.
Chelmsford 13:15 - Exentricity - came 3rd 1.76
Musselburgh 13:30 - Fie - came 5th
Punchestown 13:40 - Federici - came 3rd 1.49
Punchestown 14:10 - Open Eagle - came 3rd 1.09
Chelmsford 14:20 - Miami Gator - came 6th
Chelmsford 14:50 - Bapak Bangsawam - came last
Musselburgh 15:00 - Sea Lord - came 3rd 2.28
Punchestown 15:10 - Gold Patrol - came 5th
Chelmsford 15:20 - Kodafine - came 4th
Musselburgh 16:00 - Walden - came 2nd 1.81
Punchestown 16:10 - Jupitor - came 3rd 2.15
Chelmsford 16:20 - World record - came 7th
Musselburgh 16:30 - Run Ructions Run - came 3rd 4.22
So, by blindly backing all of those horses on the Betfair Place market would have returned 14.06 units to 13 units staked (assuming a commission of 5%.)
I'm going to try and round this experiment up on Wednesday or Thursday.
