Morning News

focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Yesterday I said that it wasn't going to be a very interesting day.

In fact it was so boring that I took a nap in the afternoon (it's an age thing!)

When I woke up, all the racing was over and, after doing a few sums, I realised that it may have been a boring day but it was also rather profitable!

If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse to £1 stakes you would have had £58.28 returned for an outlay of £38 (to Bookmakers starting prices.)

That's a return on investment of 53.37% in a single day; a bit more that I get from my savings account.

Actually, if you are a Betfair person, if you had blindly backed every top three rated horse to £1 stakes you would have had £65.25 returned for an outlay of £38 (assuming a 5% commission level.)

And, that's a return on investment of 71.71% in a single day!

Boring will do me every day!

Anyway, let's take a quick look at yesterday's results in more detail....

Yesterday's Results

Yesterday's Results, show a strike rate (for our top rated horse) of 16.67%.

The Overall Profit Index. If you had blindly backed every top three rated horse in all of the races you would have had 58.28 units returned to 38 units staked. The Overall Profit Index was, thus, 153.37%

If you'd blindly backed the top rated horse in all the rated races, you'd have had 7 units returned for 12 units staked.

However, if you'd blindly backed the second rated horse in all the rated races, you'd have had 29.75 units returned for 13 units staked.

And, if you'd blindly backed the third rated horse in all the rated races, you'd have had 21.50 units returned for 13 units staked.

You know, I can't really be too upset about results like that.

Forecasts

There were no forecasts yesterday.

However, I do have to mention that, if you use the Live Ratings, you'll have noticed that, in the 16:10 at Chelmsford, our top rated horse was a non runner and the Live Ratings promoted the 2nd and 3rd rated horses and they came in, in the right order. The CSF for that paid £10.62.

Reverse Forecasts

There were no reverse forecasts yesterday.

Tricasts/Trifectas

There were no tricasts/trifectas yesterday.

Winners
From the 13 rated races there were 9 winners (from the top 3 rated horses) - three of those were at nice prices.

Course Time Horse ISP BSP

The Portfolio

There was neither a Banker's Bet nor a Chancer's Bet yesterday.

On the Portfolio Page there is now a link to the Banker's Bet Proofing Page and, also to the Chancer's Bet proofing page.

You may subscribe to my Portfolio. To do so, you need to go to your Members Page and change option 4 on the Your Profile bit.

If you haven't subscribed, the button will say Yes - just click on it and you'll be signed up.

Something to make you laugh...

Another oldie but it made me smile!

The Wife and the Psychiatrist...

horseDoris went to a psychiatrist and said she was very worried about her husband.

"Doctor, he thinks he's a horse!" she explained.

"He sleeps standing up and he neighs instead of speaking. He even insists on being fed oats in a bag." She continued.

"It's terrible!", The doctor said. "How long has then be going on?"

"Six, maybe eight months." Doris replied.

"You've let things go too far," explained the doctor. "Your husband will require a great deal of treatment and it will be very expensive."

"I don't care about the expense," said the wife, "I will pay you anything -- anything at all to make my husband stop thinking he's a horse."

"But it will cost many thousands of pounds, can you afford that?" asked the doctor.

"Why of course we can," said Doris.

"Burt's already won three races at Kempton and he won an 18 horse handicap at Southwell yesterday."

Today

Today's 6am test ratings show 24 rated races from four meetings.

I'm going to be looking very closely at the Chelmsford results as I have a silly idea that the pricesof the winners aren't so good there.

Have a great day's racing!
